Hey guys
I have a Jonway City Runner 2008 50cc 4 stroke gy6 139qmb motor (long case)
Its been sitting inside for about 7 months(winter) and now the front brake is way too soft. Do you think it will be okey if i chance the brake fluid and bleed the system?
Are do i have too bye some parts? it would be good too know since it takes a few weeks for me too get the parts i order.
the bike is driven around 4500 km and has a new clutch, varitor, bando belt, air filter, carburetor, sprocket. (parts have maybe 200 km on them)
Any thing else i should check out before the summer? so it dosen't break down and the waiting part begins

I would start with the fluid change and bleeding the brake unless you can see any obvious problems. That may be all it needs. If you can't get it to firm up after bleeding, then closer inspection would be required. Some info here if it's needed : 49ccscoot.proboards.com/board/24/brake-techIf it's been sitting for 7 months with gas in it, then drain all of the gas from the carb and the fuel tank. You may need to clean the carb and flush the tank or even replace lines and the fuel filter. It wouldn't be a bad idea to change the oil either.

Do you have an alarm or remote start system for your scooter?

One quick tip for your soft brakes. If after bleeding the lever still travels too far (from being soft) you can place a dime between the lever and the plunger it pushes. Just check and makes sure that the dime doesn't cause your pads to drag when not applying the brakes. That helped stiffen the brakes on my kymco and drastically reduced lever travel.

To remove the alarm you simply locate it and un plug it from the harness. There's a speaker/horn that is connected to it that can go to. They are usually stuck onto the scooter with double sided tape so you just pull 'em off. Then you start the scooter and turn off the key switch. If the engine shuts off great! You're done. If the engine doesn't shut off with the key then you'll need to make a jumper with the plug connector on the alarm. Cut the plug connector off the alarm about 2" from the connector so you have some wire to play with. Now you just strip/splice/tape together the two wires to make a loop like the pic below. The rest of the wires are not needed so you can cut them off or just tape them up. Then plug the jumped connector back into the scooter where it was originally and the key switch should shut the scooter off again.
