Found the Vento Zip Scoot that appears to be everywhere but PA. It was a scoot used a dealership to run around the lot and get milage, and other info off vehicles on a large lot. WAs a Chrysler dealership in PS that was closed due to the Bail out. A friend of the dealer bought the scoot for his kids to run around his resort in a pocono, lake community. no tags were needed as it was a private setting. Kids move on in life and move out. scoot sits for a number of years, needs battery and tank flushed out. But is in good shape 1000, miles on odometer. Has 140 lbs compression battery was dead & gas smelled like booty. kicked a few times no life. long story short 300.00 later I got a Zip. Now how do I get a legit title?

In mi with a bill of sale if it is over 10 years old i can self certify that i am the owner. Shouldn't be to bad but it may take a few trips to the license place to find intelligent life that can think with common sense. Probably require a police inspection of the vin and a little time to get the right employee to get it done

I have no idea how you fix that where you are. But If you have too much trouble just send it to me! We don't need anything here, all I have is a bill of sale for all of my scoots.

I Co-worker who live 40 min from the local. Went and looked at and actually purchased it for me. He was am LEO in a neighboring township. He did a full vin and search. It was indeed purchased, but never titled. by the Dealership stated by the seller. The seller has a bill of sale from the dealership. he is sending me a copy of on monday.
Looks like I'm the test monkey... AGAIN.
{Reminds me of how Dad used to Check SparK. "hold this wire, now hold onto this here hood" rrrrr- Has damm good spark you jumped near 2 feet. }
I used to hate it when he brought home another klunker!

In FL bill of sale means nothing really. They don't even ask for it when transferring title. When I had the Tax Collector (DMV) make a title for a scoot that never had one (It was, however registered to the seller which allowed us to get title made for $85) the lady told me it's the same process they use for out of state scooters... With that in mind I have heard of a gimmick where you title your scoot through ??Vermont?? through the mail for $75 +tax... sorry I don't know all the details though... www.motorecyclenow.com/title-service.html

I personally have used Motorrecyclenow.com to title a CB750. The only issue is you will pay for the Vermont registration and then pay again to register in PA. Cheap enough for a scooter though. But fairly easy. A bill of sale in PA is worthless for dmv

To be able to trace the scooter to the original owner may be key. I learned the hard way on this. I believed a b.s. story from a c.l. seller. Now I own a scooter with a "defective title". The title I ended up with does not match the Vin.

The scoot, is not stolen. It was never titled. This has been verified. I am going to use a Company in PA. www.motorecyclenow.com/title-service.htmlWill let all know how I make out. The guy who picked up the scoot was a LEO for 10 years. He did some backround on the scoot, for me it is ok. And was never titled like owner claimed.

In France, they never used to register 50's........ then recently they changed the law. The nationwide stock of 50's, overnight, suddenly had to be registered! Hence, the country is awash with unregistered bikes, that are available very cheaply, due to . If I'd known this when I bought an MX50, I guess I could have knocked the guy down even further - paid €230 My FE53 was given to me in payment for a 10 minute fix on a local lad's AM6. To register involves photographing the VIN plate, and sending a cheque for €50 to the manufacturers national head office (say Aprilia France). They send a certificate of conformity....... and with this, the authorities will provide a registration. So in fact, it's not that difficult at all...... but the local populace have a deeply ingrained fear of getting involved with state bureaucracy. So there are definitely bargains to be had here.
