I have the same thing. I even put my valves to .002 for both and that didn't change the sound. Only happens once the bike is warmed up. I saw a video where the tick was being caused by a broken valve spring. Got mine parked until hopefully this evening I can pull the head and check to see if a valve spring is broke, or if the valve is tapping against the piston somehow.
Of course I am running a 50mm BBK with A9 cam so not stock at all...

Have you discarded the factory oil and put some good quality oil in it yet? I know everyone says do it at 300 mi. but 50-100 is plenty of initial break-in with that cheap crap in there. You can do it again at 300.
Oil gets thinner when it gets hot and that factory crap is no good to begin with but the tapping getting more pronounced when the engine gets hot is normal and nothing to get worried about. You are listening for it so you are letting it go to your head. No tapping is worse than tapping cause it means tight valve(s). Better to err on the sloppy side than too tight.
Next time you check the valves put a socket on the head bolts and make sure they are all tight. I can't tell you how many times I have found heads that were barely tightened on by the factory.

walleye1963, check to see if your spark plug is loose or the threads are cross-threaded. I just pulled my head thinking it was my valves and found out my spark plug was cross-threaded.
