These seem to have disappeared for some reason. Scrappy used to sell them, but the only place I see them are in Europe from racingplanet for about $80, which will probably take a month to arrive.
I have 49/17 in (for about 10 months), but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra mph(I do like them though), so I want to try the 50/16. Since I have a 72bbk, it might be worth giving them a try-- an 80cc would prob hold up better on windy days (with the 49/17), but I don't want to go that route.
Have any of you tried both with a 72cc?

I have not tried them, but I would not spend a long time fretting over a difference of 0.06:1 in gear ratio. Assuming the primaries are 3.25:1 the total final drive ratio difference would be about 0.2:1. Marginal.

It's more of a fine tuning thing to me. If I can get back a bit of accel or low-end torque without sacrificing too many mph, is my goal. Conditions have to be perfect most of the time to reach max speed with the power I have.
Dropping roller weight with 49/17 gears seems to defeat the purpose somewhat. With me weighing about 150, I can get away with heavier rollers. If I got the 50/16 gears and put in a tad heavier weights, it may perform better. Although, it may just be about the same, lol!
One of the main reasons I put the gears in was to keep my rpms down at top speeds.
