Is the air/fuel mixture screw adjustment backwards on a real dellorto. Do I screw in the screw to give it more air? Opposite of stock carbs?

Easiest way to figure them out is if the mix screw is on the inlet side it controls air and if it's on the outlet side it controls fuel.

The fuel idle screw actually meters the fuel that can be sucked up into the throat. The air idle screw (say PHBN) controls disruptive air, that limits the sucking force. Screwing out feeds more air to the fuel port, so limiting fuel delivery. Therefore, by controlling the air, the fuel is metered. Of course, it is enough to simply know that 'out' is weaker, and 'in' is richer......... but knowing why is always good for morale It's a shame that the info is unlikely to impress the ladies........ not the greatest 'chat up' line
