Anyone ever had a scooter head flycut to raise compression? Need to raise compression on a motor I'm working on from about 7.5:1 to about 11:1
There are a few domed pistons out there as well. But have to be careful of valves hitting them.
Harbor freight sells a few lathes but I don't know off the bat if they're capable of that. Heads are so small its possible I bet.
Piston is even with top of deck so can't do anything there.

Thanks Niz. Pretty cool trick to clean up the gasket surface. I need to remove about .060" or 1.5mm. Machine shop is probably the only way to get that much off. Not sure if any automotive machine shops can even flycut a head this small tho. Even if they can, not sure how the rocker assembly geometry will be affected. Should be ok.

Ok...so I took the head to two local machine shops. They CAN flycut the head.....$50.00 The cost to flycut the head .060 AND mill a 50mm, 20 deg sloping ridge around the edge...$250.00 Looks like I may be buying a lathe, finally

Before you go milling the head down 0.060" I would strongly suggest checking your piston to valve clearance to see if that's even doable. It my be perfectly fine, but it's best to know before you do it. Measure 2x cut 1x kinda deal. Now way I'd pay $200 to make a 50mm cut. Mark it out and do it with a rotary tool. I've done that before to make a stock head work. That or research other heads that will cost you less than $250.
