I have a Baja Retro with a 72cc bbk that starts up fine when cold. After riding for a while, when shut off,you have to crank and crank on it before it finally decides to start. When I stop somewhere to take a break,it is better to let it run instead of shutting it off. Any suggestions?

I wonder if your enricher is staying open making it too rich after it's hot?

I will have to check the enricher. It seems work when warming up the engine. The rpms are fairly high when you first start it and they gradually decrease after about 2 minutes or so.Seems pretty normal. It acts as if maybe it is not getting enough fuel to start. The pilot jet was increased to a 38 and the main to an 85 when the bbk was installed. ( came in the bbk from enviromoto)

Recheck the valve adjustment?
Try screwing the mixture screw in and if that doesn't help out 1 or 2 turns.

Probably could use a valve adjustment. I have put a few miles on it since the install. Thanks for all of the suggestions

Try giving the throttle two or three twists before you push the start button. 50cc carbs have an accelerator pump on them so when you twist the throttle all the way open from closed it squirts a little bit of gas straight down the carb throat. If you are good, you can twist the throttle two or three times while you are cranking the engine. That might make the difference. If it makes it worse then it's not a fuel supply issue.

Thanks for the tip,Fox.Other than the warm start up problem,I am very happy with the 72cc kit. It is just such a hassle to have to grind on the starter every time you stop somewhere after the engine heats up. I even made a scoop to aid in cooling the engine that attaches to the fan inlet.( slightly modified Brent's pvc pipe elbow scoop) It does seem to help.
