I have a 2008 Chinese scoot I bought it used with about 1500 miles on it.
after getting it I put a free flow air filter an after market exhaust onm I also put in a blue racing cdi along with hot coil and a new spark plug. it may have been a bit much at once but it ran great for a while after that I put a larger fuel filter and an 85 man jet in to compensate for the air filter and then it strted to run odd. It starts and idles fine but as soon as I accelerate and pass 8 to 10 mph it boggs out seems almost like its flooding out so I tried switching the jet to 80 that didn't help then put it back to stock 78 and still bogged out so I took off the filter and put the stock one back on. and put n the 85 jet ran it and it ran great again but just once brought it in for the night and the next day it was doing the same thing.
I disconnected the fuel from the filter and it was still getting fuel when I kicked it and I also cleaned the carb. Im not sure what it could be maybe its getting to much air? please help I am new to the forums and new to scoots but I have a decent hand in fixing thing any advice would be greatly appreciated

Maybe a vac leak.have you checked the valves.they might be tight.when you put perf parts on do it one at a time.when you put them on all at once then you don't no what messed it up.did you do a pdi.I'm sure that someone who no's more will come along and help.good luck.

Are you sure its fuel related? & not that perf. Cdi or red hot coil blinking out?

I am no expert, but did you tune the mixture screw? This sounds like exactly what happened when I removed the airbox restricter plug. Bogged as soon as I hit 2-5mph. I put the restricter back on, it ran fine. My guess is you need to set the mixture screw?

Did you try a different sparkplug also? I noticed in your first post that it started to run odd after installing larger ? Fuel filter & 85 mj. Maybe something to check in that area?

I think that I have it solved it seemed to be the float level was letting to much fuel in I adjusted it a little more lean and the sputtering and bogging is gone completely only thing now is it seems that when I rev the engine slightly while at a stop it holds the rev for a few seconds before slowly coming back down to idle honestly cant tell if that is normal or not since its been so long not running properly

I also added some duck tape around the free flow air filter to try and get the amount of air back to somewhat stock

Sounds like your getting the bugs out , its a process of elimination.

The idle can hang like that if the a/f screw is set too lean. Try adjusting the a/f screw as rich as possible while still having good throttle response. Might eliminate that idle hang altogether. Scoot On!
