If you're going cast iron, i'd suggest not to go for Polini or Malossi. They're real good products but they aren't any better than for example the Top Performances Black Trophy or DR kit. But they're very expensive! The same goes for that Dellorto kit by Malossi...rediculous...200 bucks only because it's in a Malossi wrapper?
It's mostly the name and marketing you pay for. And they need to have the development costs of their top of the line products paid back one way or another. Since they are market leaders in the racing scene...staying on top takes a lot of development costs.
So when you're not demanding the best of the best...leave the Polini/Malossi cylinders.

Lucass go to scooterpartsco.com They beat out everyone for Malossi prices his Malossi cast iron BBK would be $119 plus 7.99 flat rate shipping. Its about same price for the Malossi Dellorto PHGB 19mm carb kit I got. I spend right around $250 last month and got the 19mm Malossi Dellorto Carb kit, Malossi Multivar, Malossi Blue torque spring, Malossi Torsion Controller and 8g Dr Pulley sliders. Just got to shop around for best deal if you want a certain brand like my Tecnigas NextR chrome I got shipped from Scooter-Attack in Germany for $133 which is less than Racingplanet or anywhere else for that matter even has them priced at without shipping. ANd I will say this about the Malossi Dellorto kit I didn't want to buy it either when I was finding it for $200 or more but once I found it at scooterpartsco.com for cheap I jumped on it you get a ton of stuff with that kit that you would have to pick up for carb anyway if you bought naked and the price made it worthwhile plus those Malossi decals add what another 5mph to your topend? just my two cents In Australia Malossi parts are really the only way to go. GPS Imports (Malossi dealer) dont charge shipping if above $80 AUD Every other brand is either non existent or want 150 bucks to ship

Same goes for that carb and any other Malossi part besides their high end racing stuff. The rest is all cought up by other other manufacturers with cheaper, better, nicer parts.

Get the Malossi kit. If you shop around to all the various suppliers and eBay etc.. those kits are ALWAYS on sale somewhere. I think I got mine for $170 (normally over $250). I also have a Dellrepo carb (19mm). I have had some difficulty Dialing it in, but I blame most of that on myself and limited jets to choose from. I now belive the variations in performance and extreme difference in each ride that I've experienced; is due to wearing of CVT components. And NOT the replica Dellorto-PHBG. I run no filter so my main has to be over #110 but most are in the 70-80 range from what I remember. FYI I picked my carb up on Ali-express for $29 free shipping, but prices have increased, but $35-55 should be expected. As for the choke on the Malossi supplied kit: you can get the same choke on Ali for $4-12 depending on how much searching you do. Gl

scooterpartsco.com is THE MAIN US DISTRIBUTOR for Malossi and Vespa type stuff I don't think any other scooter parts website beats their prices. or shipping rates though yeah always look on ebay if you can find a NIB deal grab it. $69 for multivar, $114 for PHGB Dellorto carb kit with intake adapter new throttle cable, choke and choke cable, and $119 for BBK. Now yeah I can find all those parts cheaper in other brands but why? `You're not gonna save much more than that on a Variator and Malossi is proven. You're not gonna find a BBK kit with cylinder head for all that much less either and once again Malossi is proven. The carb yeah you can get that other places cheaper but like I said you got to by intake adapter, choke, new throttle and chock cable. I love the PHGB cuz like sasquatch I may not have it tuned perfect but I can literally loosen one clamp screw on intake adapter and one clamp screw on airbox and trist Carb to get to bowl and change jets without taking anything off.

I have owned/used the genuine and clones of both the Dellorto's and the PWK flat and D Slide carbs and I have had nil issues with either. However its the little things that piss you off. For example some of the clone carbs I have had that have come with installed and also extra loose jets have had no engraved labelling on what they are. You end up sitting there with a jet drill kit feeding through drill after drill trying to suss out exactly what size the jets are! Sometimes even then its a best guess. Never had that happen with genuine. At the end of the day though it all comes down to the $$$. The more you save the more to have to spend on more go fast goodies!

So what would one need to get that isn’t included with phgb Kit? What kind of cables?

That would be nice if I could get the throttle to disconnect at the carb. The vacuum cap doesn't appear to be threaded.
