So is it the cvt tuning that I'm lacking? or what is it? On a flat I can go 52mph no problem

CVT tuning drives me nuts!We have some experts at CVT tech right here though..Id say YES,you need more CVT work to get what you are hoping for..Thats the first priority,and it does take time and a cool head..I asked earlier if any other brand CVT parts would swap to a Kymco in hope someone would chime in so some cheap/free stuff could be had for testing..

Is it possible if you don't clean the belt dust inside the cvt case CONPLETELY, it'll immediately Stick to the boss again within the hour and cause the same thing I'm experiencing?

Have you checked the width of your belt? I see some pretty good grooves on your pulley face and possibly, your belt is worn to the point it is breaking down rapidly? I just replaced my belt a few weeks ago and, it was the original belt on the scooter with 4,000 miles on it. (I got this scoot from a friend of mine a few months ago) The old belt was almost .200" thinner than my new belt. My cvt case was also covered with powdered rubber when I opened it. All clean now but...just a thought for you. Good luck in figuring it out.

My Super9 is swappable with basic gy6 variator parts. The only thing is that the two stroke has the possibility of eating up the core of a variator that isn't built for high rpms. I had one wear out in I less than three months, would wobble on the boss and hang up. Since Ijust just put on the Malossi, I had the stock Kymco one lying around, but I just put it on my brother's taotao. Still have other gy6 ones around...

DLH was the brand. That was the one that the core wore out. I was able to tell by the amount of play it had on the boss. It was bad enough to bind...

I've learned that you get what you pay for, sometimes the name brands do make a better quality part. Malossi hasdsl shown me this to be true. I cut corners on my first kit and variator. Both are now trashed.

Replace the variator if the center bushing that rides along the boss is worn. And a new boss, since the worn variator may have damaged the smooth surface of the boss. A rough boss will eat the core out of a new variator. I don't think you can replace just the core.

I ended up using my old stock Kymco variator and cleaned up the malossi boss. THe malossi variator bushing has quite a bit more play than the stock one, so I'm hoping this will do for the time being.
Can't afford to buy new variator kit right now.

Can't afford to buy new variator kit right now. The boss wasn't damaged, was it? It's crazy that your Malossi variator is giving up. Mine it's amazing. How long have you had it?
