I have been a Maintenance Supervisor for property Management Co.s for years now (apartment complex(es)). One of the huge parts of my job is A/C mtc. and repair. Imagine trying to keep 200+ residents happy in the hot FL summer and you get some of the magnitude of the job haha. -And the A/C's are just the tip of the iceburg! Being a Mtc. Super is kinda stressful- I wouldn't suggest it. lol. Anywho- over the years I've trained lots of guys and I always tell them that when it comes to A/C calls I'd much rather be working on an AC that is broken and won't work than to troubleshoot one that's "Not working good enough." With something that's just simply not working you might find the problem, fix it, and badaboombadabing it's working again and all are happy. With something that's "not working good enough- or good as it used to." well that's where it becomes a huge PITA because you have to have lots of experience and check over EVERYTHING! You gotta test everything- make sure everything is working up to it's full potential- not just spot one problem and fix it... I guess my point is, it's probably going to be way more work inspecting everything and getting it tuned back to 100% than it would be to just simply find the one thing wrong that's making it not work... I'm sure the users on here with no job are feeling so sorry for you right now...lol And no I'm not one of them.... I am a Maintenance Supervisor for some high rise condo's on the beach. I never have to go into any ones unit. I just change light bulbs and pick up trash all day. Of course there is always something to paint. I do miss the drunk people pounding on my door at 2am to let them in their apartment. That's when you realize, the free apartment that came with your job really wasn't free.

Started the bike this morning and could barely do 38mph. Left it in the sun for 3 hours and all of a sudden, I can get up to 45mph... that's 90% of it's original speed. But the bike still sounds "hollow"
--------- Update: Went to the racing store today and the mechanic was SO helpful.
1. He replaced the reeds from stock to a 125cc yamaha reed. (Had to cut them to shape, the malossi one that came with the BBK is too small) There were gaps on the stock reed.
2. Replaced the A/F screw and checked all the jets and floater and carb parts.
3. Compression!!! - 130 max
4. Rollers seem a little flat on some sides.
Rode it for 18 miles and no changes at all... Power is still rather weak but the speed peaks at around 45mph. I should be getting 47mph easy at 3/4 throttle.
So at this stage, what else should I check? Exhaust? cylinder / piston / rings?

Has anybody decarbonized the exhaust port? With that many miles,I hope so!

No, how do you do that and is this what's likely what happened? I do have 16000 miles plus on the exhaust. It's a Leo Vince ZX-r

Here's an example of decarbonizing a 2T. You should see in the link that carbon will build up over time and it needs to be cleaned out or it partially clogs ports and changes the combustion chamber and so on. Wire brushes or wire bits for a rotary tool can usually handle the job. Brake parts cleaner or even soap and water can do the final clean. If you wash a steel cylinder (or other part) in water though, be sure to dry it completely and if it will sit for any length of time it should be protected from rust in some manner. I tend to spray a little WD-40 into a ziploc bag and stick the cylinder in there or you can wipe it down in oil. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/403/freshening-cylinder-minor-port-modI think at this point with 130psi compression and that many miles it would be a good idea to take the cylinder off and inspect the whole kit and clean it up. Being a free-flowing exhaust I'd guess the ZX-R will be OK for the most part, but at least make sure you can blow air all the way through it. It's probably time to repack the silencer if that hasn't been done.

1.If it's really carbonation, can this be what's causing the spark plug to be black and fouled, make the engine sound muffled and degrades power / speed?
2. What was the material to repack the silencer again? I know you mentioned, but I forgot.
3. Is 130psi not so good? It has to be 140-150?
Thanks for the tip, I need to travel 60 miles today, but I'll take the BBK apart and check the ports.

Sai , Dont want to sound negative , but with the very hi milage on your scoot , you depend on it for transportation , the problems on such a hi milage machine , are piling up , have you ever thought of moving on to a new scooter? Safer more dependable daily rider?

1. Could be if it's clogging up ports, but part of that inspection I mentioned should involve checking the piston rings. 2. Moto shops should carry silencer packing material. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/12652/re-packing-silencer3. 130psi may be alright. It would be easier to know if you knew past compression numbers, squish clearances, and so on. Generally I'd say that's getting on the low end though.

130 psi seems low to me, I'd pull the top end and inspect at least if not rebuilding the top end.

no scoring on the cylinder wall and the piston rings look great. BUT i see some build up in the exhaust port of the cylinder and not sure if that's also build up on the leo Vince mouth that's attached to the cylinder. So so what do you think? Is this the culprit of my super low power and slowness?

Definitely clean out the exhaust port, header flange, and head while you're in there. You said the rings look great, but did you actually check their end gaps?

The dark sides of the piston looks like ring leakage is going on..With 7000 miles on it, a new piston, ring set, piston pin,and pin bearing with new gaskets would get it back in good order.A cheap fix might be just rings and gaskets.+ decarbonize as Brent said..

I don't have the tools to check end gaps, but it seems pretty tight still when I slide the Cylinder body back in. I'm just done scraping the carbon off the Cylinder exhaust port...it's like 1-2mm thick.
Working on the Leo Vince ZX-R now... spraying the insides with Brake cleaner... I don't have a flexible wire rod unfortunately so hope this is enough.?
Ok, I'll go buy new rings and gaskets (gaskets and rings look good and smooth tho).

If the carbon was 1-2mm thick, you may have found found your culprit! Kudos on digging in and getting your hands dirty Sai.

They literally are dirty, can't get all the black off my finger nails -_- 1. I sprayed wd40, and carb cleaner last night into the exhaust and when I woke up and flip the pipe, this is what it looks like. The rest are powder from my hand drill or liquid. Then in just now I sprayed a bunch of brake cleaner from both ends. Mid this a lot ? They look like flakes when they fall off 2. I can't open the muffler to replace the packing. How do I do it? (The packing looks black, caked in and I see some black goo leaking from one end of the carbon wrap on the outside of the muffler) 3. Do I still need a flexible rod with wire brush to clean the insides of the exhaust?
