It's time to repack my C16. I know this has been discussed before but I thought a refresher would be good. At least for me it would;). What do you use and any tips?

I've used some FMF stuff that looked kinda like carpet pile and I've used what John linked to. The sheet/mat packing is easier to work with and seems to work just as well if not better. You can get it in more expensive branded forms, but it prob works about the same. Whatever you use don't pack it really tight.

I just re-packed mine yesterday.
The trick is to put the right ammount of wool in there. You have to apply some pressure when pressing it in. But not too much otherwise the wool can't absorb the sound waves anymore.
Assemble the silencer but keep about one inch open at the top to put the stuffing through. I always use a long screwdriver to push the wool into the silencer tube. So use a long and thin object to apply light pressure and always apply evenly around the inner tube (perforated tube). Otherwise the inner tube sits crooked in the outer tube.
Fill up the whole silencer and you're good to go!
