Thanks. Do you know if the pumps come with the three grommets that the hoca stud kit come with? I'll end up painting the pump and cover white and black so I'll probably just stick with top performance pump.

I've heard that they are nothing but problems PIG, that they leak and that they break. Especially on the high performance motors. aeroxbud, Lucass2T what are your thoughts? You guys know much more about them.

I needed to mod the pumk to get it b to fit the Zuma case you need lon get studs then what there is out there You will only be able to use 2 of the three bolts to mount it b to the case and have to make a part to cover the stator

You guys know much more about them. I've never heard about leaking problems with mechanical driven waterpumps on minarellis. But then again i've never owned a watercooled kit, and a lot of the fast ones i see use an electric pump. I think that's because you don't have to sacrifice engine power to drive the pump. I dunno...i sure would dare to to use the stock pump. Maybe put a stage 6 snail on? The stock parts may have too big of a output for 11-12K+ rpms. That would give a big resistance and maybe overpressurize parts like the radiator, hoses and pump itself? Maybe thats why they leak? I know it can give problems on car engines...pushing the freeze plugs out and all.

Dam I never knew it would be such an issue to water cooling this thing. So these mechanical pumps don't work on Zuma cases? Surly someone has done this conversion and knows what I need.

Oh but every minarelli case can be plug and play converted to watercooling. Really easy you just need the parts but it's all bolt on.
You need that waterpumpcover where normally the airscoop sits. You need the 3 extension bolts with those rubber rings. Well thats actually it.

That's what I thought, but from what I'm hearing the North American version of the Yamaha minarelli is different.

yea They do leak!! I have tried about every trick in the book to get it to stop and nada!!! Ugh I even tried a double lip seal and it just got hot and burned the seal up!! But it isn't very much I mean it leaks very minuscule ....
Also I believe I have a complete stae6 water pump laying around. Somewhere....

Don't have specific information about both of em. But they are both top of the line high end products. Both in the same rpm and hp range. I think metrakit uses the pro race cylinder as a basis for the little dirtbikes and the metrakit mini GP cup. I think the metrakit pro race was initially developed for the minarelli AM6 engines and later adopted for scooters. The metrakit has a triple port design...not better or worse than a bridged one since the triple design is also used in the 50hp TM racing KZ kart engines. I think the Evo has a bit more transferport area. Dunno how much you care about that? Or how important it is when thinking about porting it? I think for an enthousiast it doesn't really matter which one you buy. Maybe is does more for a scooter racing team where sponsors and shareholders have benefit from a winning machine.
