I decided to clean up my messy working space by creating a small workbench that would fit my purpose. First I would like to say, never ever cut 2x4 by hand! I have never done something so stupid as that. The wood is very strong and sturdy and I would have given my left nut for a miter saw that day. Cutting by hand will not give you nice, clean and precise results. That said, here are pictures of my adventure yesterday. Short explanation to the images: (from left to right, top to bottom) - Work space, my house entrance. lol Can you imagine my wife's face. And all the noise and ruckus. - Pieces are cut and ready for assembly. - Frame is done. Only the panels are left. - As you can see my work space before was chaotic, that's what my wife said. I had good overview though. - After; looks lot more clean and organized. - Enough space for an engine and all the cans. - Everything fits in and I also wrote description off the contents on the boxes for better overview. I plan to expand the workbench with an upper rack and a wall behind it to hang up tools later on. Maybe some lights, plugs and speakers etc... To be continue...

Sweet! Once you get used to having a workbench, you won't know how you functioned without it.

Yeah, the height of that workbench is perfect even standing I can work comfortable. Maybe a Bar chair would be nice too. One with wheels under it so that I can roll left and right. birdmanWish I could have build it while you were here that would have been a fun project.

spaz12Thank you! But it is the same as with my Scooter, it looks good from far away but looking at it closer it reveals the bad work. A miter saw is a must have tool for a project like that.

You're like me and to hard on yourself. If it's driving you crazy, you could always sand down all the edges and corners

Probably yes. Because I didn't had straight, clean cuts I have some space between the 2x4s where they connect to each other and also the pieces that needed to be same long were uneven. To get a nice, perfect bench you need to work very precise and a miter saw does that all in 10 min. But the final result would be the same, no matter if perfect or not. All stuff fits inside it and I can work on the engine on a comfortable height and not on the floor anymore. Would love to have a vise and a drill press for starters. I can see already, I am gonna spend more money on tools again then on the important stuff like crank and bearings. I definitely got my priorities wrong.

No way! Tools are always a good investment no matter what.

aeroxbudThank you! The bench is not that big compare to what some American dudes have here in the forum. Length: 160cm / Width: 60cm / Height: 90cm / Total cost: around $50 Wish I could have build a bigger one but space and $$ is the problem. It is enough for what I need it though. SitticussThanks!

I cheated the last time and built the frame out of PVC pipe. Then slapped a piece of wood on the top.The connectors etc helped make up for my custom hand cut pipes.....lol
