After the France roadtrip i got a Peugeot SV50 for free from one of the guys that participated. It broke down the 3rd day and he didn't wanna have it anymore so he gave it to me. Crankshaft was shot, variator was totally worn but the rest is okay. The thing looks like shit and om gonna leave it like that! Just for fucks they drew a dick on the handlebar fairing, a smiley face on the front fairing and wrote 'je moeder' on the side with a spray can. Je moeder means 'your mum' So thats the name this scooter gets What are the plans? Nothing fancy. A replacement crankshaft and variator. New bearings, seals, gaskets all around. Fresh gear oil. New belt, sparkplug etc. Just a good tune up to make it roadworthy for the next 10000 miles. Im gonne (try to ) keep this one more or less stock and spend as few as possible. It must be technically perfect but with stock(ish) parts. Maybe a budget 70 and a cheap chamber to conquer the steep mountains around Munich in Germany where im take it next year. But thats it! Oh man....there i go already This is gonna be a slow project and atm its in a million pieces. Don't expect any spectacular updates soon. But i wanted to share this one with you guys. Hopefully i can ride your mum soon though! Some pics (when it still belonged to the previous owner) Thats me in the background Its never gonna look like this anymore i can tell you that!

Any progress on Je moeder? Nothing spectacular. I made up a list of parts i need to build the engine: - New crankshaft - Crankshaft bearings + seals - New piston wrist pin - Piston rings - Complete gasket set - New variator The engine was just the worst off...the rest (chassis, suspension, brakes, electrical) is good enough to be at least ridable for now. Dunno when im gonna order the parts...maybe first im gonna visit the junkyard next week and see if that scrap sv125 is still there That thing was complete and only €70 and than i'll have a 125cc 2t engine. But the engine might be as bad as this one is, and then it will take even more $$$ to get it running right. Also was thinking of doing a WW2 German airplane paint scheme since next summer im taking it to Munich Germany. I might paint a yellow band on the front and/or back and one of those black/white crosses on the side fairings. A little provocation is is fun

If the kicker is good on the junk yard dog then you should be able to take a fairly good, educated guess on the compression. I have faith in you Love those old 109's! Such a cool looking plane. The German cross might even look pretty good on the scoot too, just don't use the swastika unless you surround it with some Egyptian symbols, because it's illegal in Germany, isn't it?

Im not a nazi Dunno if it's illegal but it's def not appreciated by ze Germanzz. Maybe a big Reichsadler holding the 49ccscoot logo on the front would be cool?

Yeah, that'd probably go over well

The first paint job if done correctly would look really sweet on your scooter. Will you be leaving all of the Third Reich simbols ? If you're going to Germany, it's probably a good idea to remove all of them (even if it just says Luftwaffe, you can get a fine of many hundreds of Euros).

Bought a Gianelli Reverse for €25 today I specificly was looking for a Gianelli reverse for a reason: When i used to work as a moped mechanic i used to do a lot of exhaust swaps on peugeots. Experience tought me the Gianelli Extra(yes the Extra, not the Reverse!) is simply excellent and by far the fastest on stock peugeot (lc) engines. A lot more powerful than the Yasuni R! Now you're thinking Gianelli Reverse, Gianelli Extra? Why the Reverse then when the extra is the best? Those are two different pipes? Well, I don't know for sure about that... Look at the pics and especially at the expansion chamber shape. Gianelli Extra: Gianelli Reverse: Similarities between both: - Both notable long and shallow-angle baffle cone. - 2pc exhaust - Header angle/shape - Shape and angle of diffusor cones - expansion shape in general Differences: - Extra has a pressed chamber - Reverse is made out of cones So...judging from the eye these pipes must have the same character. Maybe on of the two has screens inside...read something about that on aprilia forum. But that was for a piaggio engine. www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?274341-Giannelli-Reverse-Perforated-ConeReally curious if the peugeot version also had a baffle inside...it would really amaze me. The Extra probably doesn't have them since they are just so good already right out of the box (but ristrictor removed ofcourse). BTW look at these pipes: Conti Arrow

I have the Gianelli Extra on a Yamaha Zuma and it's a good midrange pipe. Not much for high rpm but pulls good in the middle. Was cheap too.

Yeah those Gianelli's are really cheap. Im not really a fan of gianelli exhausts actually, but they have a few really good designs. Like i said the Extra is excellent for stock peugeot scooter engines.
The Gianelli Conti for Derbi Senda is a very nice one. Very very strong from 8k and up and revs to 13K on a stock motor! But completly dead below 8K.
And the Gianelli Shot on minarelli horizontal engines. Never tried that in person but they seem to be on Yasuni R level performance wise. It's a copy of the discontinued Top Performances Nardo which i read was (in the late 90's and early 00's) the holy grail in mid race 70 exhausts. They where made for the Top Performances Due Plus 70cc.
The Gianelli Shot suffers from poor silencers which often tear and/or break off. Thats why they made de Shot V2 and V4 (dunno about the V3?).

Made a good deal on a set of gears today. Paid €12,50 Didn't knew DR made gearsets...They're famous for their excellent cast iron 70s, but gearsets? I have no idea about the ratio nor the ratio of the stock gears. But longer gears are always nice when you're riding only long flat straights. Also looking forward to the downhill parts in Germany. Im curious if it will hit 60. Also i broke one of my own promises by buying a 2nd hand crank. Paid €25 so thats not too much. It's a budget build and its not going to be making that much power so then it's okay i figured.

Read more: 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/14112/mum-peugeot-sv50-gearset-crank#ixzz3s4wtNBk6What about installing a new big end bearing or even a decent/cheap rod kit on that crank?A well kept crank usually only needs a new bearing as the cage wears out first,,Just a thought...
