ok so ive been noticing when i stop at a light i feel my scooter wants to go forward...so ive been ignoring it for the past couple days and today i finally took the seat off to turn down the idle... i lowered the idle as low as it can go. the idle screw is not even touching the throttle and the back wheel is still spinning. i messed around with the air mixture screw but that doesnt help either... could it be because i took the hoca clutch and variator off my other scooter? is there anything else i need to do now that i have an upgraded clutch etc...?

Is it a brand new clutch? Possibly, it might have to wear in a bit to remove the high spots. My rear wheel sometimes turns just a little bit when on the center stand...by turning, I mean maybe 1 or 2 turns/minute. Very slow movement. It does not always do this, but since it has turned cold here and i have reset the carb. and idle, it sometimes does this. If yours is really turning a lot, and tuning the carb and adjusting the idle screw does not fix it, something else is wrong like maybe a vacuum leak perhaps?
Just my 2 cents.

It could be a stretched spring in the clutch.

X2on vacuum I would look really close if you can't get idle I would pull carburetor and look at it

Like Katastroff said, it could be a stretched spring, or possibly a spring totally came out/broke and one of the clutch arms is always engaged...

If it's a vacuum leak I can't find it. Seems everything is good on that note. But when I turn the mixture screw it doesn't change the idle which makes me believe there is a vacuum leak. It's mind boggling. I have checked every thing possible that could be leaking. What am I missing?

Could be a vacuum leak in your clutch's springs.

If nothing else fixes it, you might have to check the valve seats. Before that, I would check the intake manifold rubber for leaks...they are hard to spot there...just a small crack would do it. Maybe the intake manifold gasket as well. Bill

Pull the cvt cover and give the clutch bell a spin if there is any movement of the belt your clutch is sticking. Its very likely you have a spring that's not as springy as it used to be.
