My 100 dollar Elite came with no centerstand. You don't get all the frills for a hundred.I have installed centerstands on classic Triumph's and have no fond memories of the experience.any tricks? Any Honda owners know where the spring attaches to the frame/engine case?

I usually use a large phillips screwdriver so the shaft is round and there's nothing to catch on at the end. Put one end of the spring(s) on, for me it's usually the case end. Then slide the screwdriver through the other end and lay it across the peg that the spring needs to go on. Pry it on. Sometimes I have to push the spring toward the tip of the screwdriver so it doesn't slide up and away from the peg. If it's really tough for some reason, I'll leave the pin that goes through the centerstand about 3/4 of the way in, so it's not all the way through the stand and the stand can move a bit. Sometimes just that small difference makes it easier.
Sorry, no experience with the Hondas to give you any specifics.

I just put one on this morning. I tried a different approach this time. With the stand not attached to the bike, I put the spring on the case and the stand. Then started the pin, wrestled the stand to the engine, then pushed through. It was a bit easier for me to handle the whole stand than just the spring.

I have been thinking about taking the center stand off my trike. I don't use it for anything and it only gets in the way.

Thanks guys, the photo is from behind the scoot right Ryan? That's my plan too t&L thanks.Frank it's a trike it can't fall over and you got the lift setup, hell yeah, just weight.Only snag is if your out and about and have starting/running problems can't rev it with the back wheel on the ground.I have a bolt on side stand but hesitate to take off centerstand for that reason.took em off most motorcycles I have owned.Big mistake with my last restoration.A 73 Triumph Trident, the heavy bastard set so long on the sidestand in the garage it broke the Kickstand tab on a powder coated frame. Not real visible after I painted it after welding it back but it still aggravated me.

As per Frank50 I have a HF ATV and mower 2-wheel hydraulic lift with a pick point in the ceiling joists for a come-along to pick up the back end. It really makes mine easy to service. Now if I could just get my hands to work long enough to do something They have been really bad shaking with ET and hurting lately. I can't seem to get anything done or done right. It is really frustrating.
