I took my old plug out of my taotao thunder today and it looked like carbon was built up on it? Replaced it but it still smokes... Do you think its due to putting gun out carb cleaner in the gas two fill ups ago?? Still smokes when warming up but runs fine. Ive got a weird vibration coming from cvt case...?? Tryed taking cvt case off but darn removed all bolts but it was stuck.. What do i do with kickstart in the way? Im trying to fix everything on this scoot but the darn smoke at warm up and belt slap is killing me!! Checked compression with finger it was good. Gonna get valves set friday after work. But im hoping my engine is good im worried!!! The belt slap and smokeing is my main problems. Cant view videos so please exsplain how to get cvt cover off and why its smoking?? Thank you all

Well, once you remove all the bolts from the cvt cover, tap on it gently with a hammer. Its probably just stuck due to the gasket, which I might add is pretty much useless.

The vibration could be due to worn rollers in your variator. Or possibly something is out of round/slightly warped. The smoking could be caused by worn seals that start cold and smoke but expand and stop smoking as the engine warms up.

The smoke couldnt be from the gum out carb cleaner? The vibration only happens under load when im taking off and when im going downhill at top speed it will come from the cvt case vibration noise. What about the clicking noise during idle?? Valve gap wrong??

Usually smoke is oil burning which means you have a bad valve guide seal or bad piston rings.
Hit the CVT cover on the top at the rear with a rubber hammer. You don't have to remove the kick lever.

What color is the smoke? Is there a chance the scooter is running uber rich causing the smoke? Is your vacuum petcock leaking gas through the vacuum line directly into the intake?

Its just plain white smoke doesnt smell like gas but it happens during idle warm up then will go away later... It doesnt do it everytime i crank it up but very often..

Keep a close eye on the oil level for a week and if it drops significantly then you may have an issue. If it stays full then it's most likely just water vapor/condensation. Nothing to worry about. Cars do it in the cold.

Yea my oil level is dropping a few notches every week... So yes its burning oil but runs good.. My old plug had build up on it so i guess thats the case... The problem is what...?

Check for any oil leaks, If there aren't any leaks do a compression check, if the compression is good then it could be the valve seals
