I have written about my bike and its problems in other posts, but have been following through with solutions and results.
See my previous post on charging issues here:

I had been having irregular results with jetting and airflow, but when attempting to restore to factory specs, I was still having issues. At one point on a test run, wearing my half helmet, I was able to hear pressure restrictions from the muffler. Bypassing the muffler to the header-pipe, I eliminated some of the problems I was experiencing.
I ordered a new muffler, a performance type.
In the meantime, I experimented with a “Youtube” solution. I purchased a “small engine muffler” and some “black pipe” fittings and made a replacement muffler. While this worked Ok, it really didn’t suit my needs. See the video link for this here:

The muffler that I ordered was not the one I received; similar, yes, but not the same. I contacted the seller, and they stated that it was the fault of the manufacturer … I called it “bait and switch”. The item I bought had a small bore, hefty, welded construction, with a removable baffle at the tail end. I received the typical, wide bore, performance muffler, typically seen. The seller blamed it on the manufacturer and I reluctantly, accepted the excuse. I was anxious to get the scoot running.
Since the installation, which required cutting, and re-clocking the header angle, I have been re-tuning the carburetor. See the post installation video here:

Positively, I have been getting stable results with the tuning process.
I’m up to a 38 idle jet (with the mixture screw setting at 2.5, down from 3.5). I had moved, and reset the needle setting, back to the original placement for optimal results, but was still experiencing mid-full throttle bogging, or cut-out.
Last night, I checked the plug, and it appeared white at the porcelain and ground point (for lack of proper term). This morning I re-jetted the main jet to a 115 (from 110); on a quick test run, acceleration through mid-band seemed better, but can’t give a positive result as to the inclement weather.
Today we’re getting the first snowfall of the season; although I started out early, it was a wet snowy mess. Like rain on steroids, I had to cut the run short.
More to come ...
