Was just curious... Are there any new scooters with an actual left hand lever clutch (like motorcycles)?? I think I remember seeing old generation scooters with hand lever clutch... and I think the rear brake was on the floor, in front of right foot? Oh, and how aboot manual gears? Those exist??

Those would be old school Vespa's that you're thinking of. I'm not sure if they still make anything like those and if they do they don't sell them in America.

Some Vespas and Stellas have manuals. Some big stuff, like Suzuki Burgmans, have some strange setup where you can push a button to up and downshift... but it's actually changing the way the CVT operates.

Many state laws require scooters to have automatic twist and go transmissions. That makes anything with a clutch or gears a motorcycle.

I believe as 90GTVert mentioned, they still make the Stellas and Bajajs Chetak(sp?) in the old style and has the shifter lever and brake on the floor... but not 100% positive... Wikipedia says the Bajaj Chetak's were discontinued in 2009, but the 4 speed Stella is still in production!

Stella's are all twist and go now. Some dealers still have the older 2 stroke 4 speed models sitting around but the Stella has been a variated 4 stroke for a few years now.

There's the Sym Symba. It has a semi-auto transmission. Clone of the old Honda Cub/Passport type scooters.
No clutch, but you still manually shift.
What kind of transmission do the new Cushmans have?

Kansas allows 130cc for a moped.

Kansas allows 130cc for a moped. So if I lived in Kansas I could.legally ride a 130cc bike with no registration? Wild. A 130coc 2t can be quite fast. Ahh... 30mph limit still... I guess this allows Briggs type.minibikes to be street legal? moped2.org/laws/Kansas.htm
