This is why you don't wear sandals or flip-flops on a scooter or motorcycle. Tennis shoes are not recommended either.

I tend to ride a lot in my L.L Bean house slippers, but that should make me want to wear my boots everytime I ride, but I doubt I will. Dumb me!

I always say: it's better to save money for protective clothing than to save skin and flesh.

I'm all for protective shoes when riding, but if this picture is of a motorcycle/scooter incident, I don't see how he lost the top and bottom of his foot at the same time?

My Converse are sufficient. Right? No not really. You really should invest in some boots. Heavy Duty work boots is ok. Tennys are better than flip flops but not much. Having a thick sole and sturdy ankle support can mean the difference between putting a boot down in a emergency or evasive manoeuvre to rolling or breaking foot/ankle and crashing causing more injury. I'm guilty of wearing my Adidas a couple of times and remember regretting it and not being able to walk for a week.

I'll probably still wear just sneakers to be honest.

Shorts flip flops and no helmet here. Mostly around the neighborhood. Shoes and a helmet if I'm going out on big roads or the big bike.

I rarely see other scooters around here but when I do it's usually the shorts, flipflops, and no helmet. I just wouldn't feel safe not wearing a helmet for anything other than riding it around the yard or just down the road.
