I just noticed it says Riva on the front fairing of my Jog. Yet it says Jog on the rear/bucket fairing. I'd thought the Riva was a model of its own. The other weird thing is that when I look up Jog in the US it says '88 to like 91 and then the body style changed. Mines a '86 which makes no sense. I know everything is stock from whom I acquired it from. Long story short grandkids f'd it up years ago and the buddy I got it from got it from the original owner who said it had just sat in the garage for 13or14 years.

Have you pulled the cvt cover yet? Is it belt or chain drive?

Haven't gotten o it off yet because they used cheap ass screws that stripped. But it looks nothing like the chain drive SH-50 that I have. It doesn't clatter like a chain so I'm presuming it's a CVT. I'll cry if it isn't.

I've never seen a chain driven scoot.

Haha, no thanks. Pawn that off on some other foo Seriously though, I have no money for that. I'm literally broke Clank and can only afford little things right now. Just found out today that I'll be out of work for another 30 days

Riva is it's own model that pre-dates Jog by a year or so worldwide, but as the Riva had been on sale in north America for several years and was well known when Yamaha introduced the Jog to the US, they used it's name when they introduced both the Jog and the Razz as sub-models of Riva. Only in the US and Canada will you find the Riva jog and the Riva Razz.
