So I was taking apart this Yamaha engine that I got from work and guess what I find? A malossi 70cc bbk! Yeah yeah!!! What about those cooling fins that broke off? Is that ok or should I get a new head?

The first step I would do is mic the cylinder and piston. If they are within tolerance I'd do a hand home and reassemble.Might be a good time to invest in a CHT gauge and gently see if the missing fins cause overheating.Personally I would take an old head, cut and shape new ones and weld them in.But I have the skills and equipment to do that.Having someone else do it for a fee would be cost prohibitive.Actually I would probably use my existing head cause I don't have the time to tackle that job.

From the pic looks like something has been into the combustion chamber.

Always hard to tell how smooth a bore is in a picture. If you can use it will be a free upgrade

I have an MHR Rep head if you want it. Has the O ring with it.
