I sold my Tomos Nitro 50 to a friends friend. This was the scooter that got me into the scene. It was a basket case when I first got it, and made for a great winter project and intro to scooters. My first scooter repaint too. As you can see it was in excellent shape when it was sold last summer. Then I get a call last week saying they were having problems getting it running. So I go to pick it up and this is what I had the pleasure of seeing. I almost left it there. It was left outside all winter uncovered. Guy claims his kid backed into it. Froze throttle cable, water in fuel tank, CDI just hanging, oh yeah did I mention a huge hole in rear plastic panel. I guess they also messed with the carb and broke off the lever that actuates the accelerator pump(don't ask me how) One clamp on the exhaust is missing and was covered in mud.(if you look close) I really didn't want to work on it, but the nice guy that I am I did. Guess the only positive note after this scooter, I did come to my senses and switch to the 2t club.

Poor lil' guy. I know he still loves you. Find him a nice, strong heartbeat.

If he did that to a scooter what does his car look like? Dude has no respect and does not deserve a scooter.

Some people just destroy things. Charge them big $$$$ for getting their stuff running.

I had the same dilemma with my first basket case Zuma. Sold it to a guy for less than I really wanted to just because it was a package deal to get rid of a 4T TaoTao I wanted gone. Made him promise to sell it back to me if he ever got rid of it. I'll probably never see it again, and it wasn't anything special, but I was kind of attached to that piece of shit. Kind of like the Camaro I had in high school. I kinda miss it.

Never sell me anything. I'm fully of the "ride it like you stole it" philosophy.
That said, if I break it there will be a good story to go with the damage.

Well I had to work in this again. This time it was to replace the throttle cable. Seems then new owner does not grasp the concept of keeping this scooter out of the weather. The funny part, he now wants to buy my Vento. Yeah, like that is going to happen.

Sold a nice little Ice Bear to guy...great running little scooter....a week later....he got pulled over for no tag...scooter was impounded...$700 to get it back (he didn't have it)....probably ended up belonging to a city employees kid or at a Police auction.
