So I bought a new scooter today so here comes a few questions about it to get it running tip top. First off it didn't have an inline fuse where the battery is so I just hooked the 2 fuse holder ends together and it got burning hot. Now I don't know if that's normal . I will end up getting a new fuse tomorrow and see if it still gets hot with the fuse in it. Also, it will only start if I kick start it. The battery is good so I'm guessing the start button is either unhooked or broken. But the weird thing is when I try to jump the solenoid it sounds like the motor is just spinning almost like a humming sound, like it doesn't turn over like a normal scoot would. Don't get me wrong it runs good when lick started and I drive it. Just never heard that sound when trying to start a scooter. I'll get a video with sound posted tomorrow

Sounds like something is shorted if the fuse connections are getting hot

Thanks Brent. What about the other problem?

Could be related, at least the switch issue.
Starter is turning but not the engine? Check the bendix.

It's like the engine will turn one time and then the Bendix just spins. Kinda sounds like something metal just spinning really fast.

Check the bushings on both sides of the bendix and the teeth on all starter parts. Make sure nothing is spacing the CVT cover out.

its almost like the bendix isnt getting pushed out enought to engage the gear to spin the motor

Sounds like a new spring for the Bendix is in order. My Bendix falls apart when I take the cvt cover off but works flawlessly otherwise.
