Some states ( like KY ) require it to be a step through frame, before it can be considered a scooter. Good luck. I agree, riding that is begging cops to stop you. So that excludes motorcycle-looking automatic TOMOS models? How lame.

Just get your "M" endorsement and shell out another grand and get a Kawasaki Ninja 250 or go online and for $1300 you can get a Chinese copy of the 250 ninja. Just saying some times it's easier and cheaper just to play by the rules rather than waste time looking for a loop hole.

Raced the half mile dirt track there as part of our spring Daytona trip.I have raced most half miles in the US and feel Savannah to be the best preped and fastest I ever rode.Before the groove really blued up you could run a 750 twin WFO around the whole circuit.Scary fast!

You do the vintage flat track racing?
I've never made it out for that. I work weekends and Saturdays tend to be our busiest day so taking a Saturday evening off is hard.

Yes Thomas Vintage FT I race a bike I built in the mid 70's 750 Yamaha in a Champion frame.Bikes still as fast as current GNC bikes the sport hasn't progressed much dying a slow death.MX pretty much replaced it.
