Hey fellas don't count me out of the flip game just yet! I just picked up this 2004 Yamaha Zuma w/title for $250. I tried my best to get it for $200 but he just wouldn't budge off $250. He mentioned "It does have an open title so you can do whatever you want with it if that makes any difference". I said; "Oh yes, that makes a difference to me! Sold." The nice thing is that it was located right here in my town so a quick 5 minute drive and we got another flip to do! It comes with the typical 'box o' parts' with the CVT cover, rear rack, and vari parts etc. but I will need to spend a few bucks on it as it's missing the seat bucket. Anyone here have one for sale??

I did see this ad a couple weeks ago but they didn't mention the title so I didn't pay much attention to it. I'm pretty surprised it wasn't sold yet. This is a motorcycle shop that's selling it. The fellas there were commenting and laughing that they had cleared a few scoots recently (one was a pre-bug but with no title) and they couldn't believe that folks bought the Chinese no-name scoots even with no titles and everyone overlooked this Yamaha scoot! It's the last one left that they're selling. We surmised that folks were probably scared off by the CVT cover and vari being missing. Oh well, glad it was still there waiting for me. Perfect timing too as I just made yet another order of parts for the Wasp!

Hey Niz, great to see you are back in the game! The best place I have found to buy parts for these is Partzilla.com. I have bought several parts for my son's Zuma and the one I flipped and partzilla beat used Ebay prices. Another place to look is over on zumaforums.net. They have a classified section and you may find someone parting over there. I found the parts I needed on Zumaforum but after shipping they ended up being more than partzilla (free shipping over $150) so I ended up going with new parts.

Got some time yesterday and today to work on this scoot. Here's some "Before" pics: Ye ol' "box o' parts" Bonus Parts! A nice 3 shoe stock clutch/pulley! (I put the two-shoe in the scoot and kept this 3 shoe for myself) I started by pulling the carb and giving it a good cleaning. Jets were clogged- typical old gas stuff! I also removed the tank and got all the old fuel out and put everything back together. All of the cells of the battery were pretty much bone dry so I filled them up with *distilled* water (I used tap water) and it's actually taking a charge. Fingers crossed I can resuscitate it! Next I needed to address the CVT stuff before I could even try to fire her up. Everything was there in the box, albeit very crusty. I cleaned and sanded and lubed everything up real good and got it all back together. The belt was pretty worn. Holy thin belt batman! At one point when putting the starter parts and vari etc. on the crank I kept having an issue of where no matter what I did or how many spacers I put in, everytime I tightened the vari nut it'd totally lock up the crank. I couldn't turn it! What I ended up figuring out is that they had the wrong starter clutch (there were two in the box). This clutch here on the right has a raised "ridge" which allowed it to be tightened against the case when I snugged everything up... I swapped all the springs and pins into the other starter clutch and all was well. Now we're getting somewhere. We got a runner boys. Two stroke smoke!! Holy cow this thing was smokey! Check out what it did to my garage lol. I'm real happy that all the electronics and lights/blinkers etc. work perfectly on this scoot. I don't have to dig into electrics! Yay! Well, I do plan on doing the dual headlight mod... I gotta say this baby starts right up at the touch of the button and purrs like a kitten. I started it up and shut it down and started it about six times in a row. I think this battery just might be good-to-go! I ended the night with a 45 minute struggle and battle resetting the d@m% kickstart spring. It was off and kinda crusty so I cleaned everything up and greased it all real good. Unfortunately I ended up trashing a good shirt I was wearing battling with this juicy/greasy CVT cover lol. O well- cost of doing business I suppose! This baby is a one-kick-wonder and I'm real pleased with how nicely the CVT cover cleaned up. She's running good. Time for cosmetics already?!

After some consideration I've decided I do want to put a front fender on this scoot. I like the looks without one, but it just seems a little "unfinished". I dug out this old rear fender off of something and cut it up. Hopefully it'll look pretty decent.

Noticed you have a mirror bolt broke off in the controls too. Think I have one of those also if you want it, I'll throw it in with the rack.

I actually broke off both mirror nuts at the place I bought it from trying to get them off so I could load it up in my van. No worries there though, I'll get the broken bolts out and I have mirrors for it. Also good on the belt ty again. I already ordered the battery cover with my Partzilla order. However, do you happen to have the two little rubberish Yamaha logos that pop into the holes on each side of the body at the front of the scoot? I keep trying to do a google image search so I can find a pic of them but I don't know what they're called. If you do great! Lemme know how much extra for those! If not no problemo- I'll take that rear rack off yer hands! Thanks!
