I've only installed 12V outlets (cigarette lighter), but it's the same process. Use a fuse and wire it to an ignition switched source. You can find them all around the front of the scoot with a test light or multimeter or just tap into the lead off of the ign switch directly. Wire it to a good ground and all that's left is to mount it.
You can power it full time with battery power if you'd like. You just have to make sure you don't leave anything hooked up to drain the battery for long periods of time.

I just go to the local auto parts store display and buy the 12V power port I want. The USB chargers to insert in the power port are available in the same place and many other stores.
My 12V power port is hooked directly to the battery with a 10A circuit breaker. That way it is also useful as a battery charger port. I also use the port to run my electric fuel transfer pump to fill my scoot tank from a 5 gallon fuel can. Of course one must be responsible enough to pull a USB charger unit etc out of the 12V port when needed to avoid draining the battery.

t.harborfreight.com/household/electrical/solar-power-connection-cable-kit-68684.html I guess there called solar powered kits. But I just hooked it directly up to the battery. And anytime I need something. Scooter jump, phone charger, etc. I just plug it in at my glovebox. I'm sure you could even modify your battery charger to a two prong from one of the plugs in the kit. Then you could just charge your battery anytime you want without removal. I could of swore I got the idea from this forum a while back.

do you have links to the ones you have bought Pretty much the same thing; one ships faster. Ebay sellers carry them too. amzn.to/1XXhHN3amzn.to/1XXhLMHI used one of these for USB adapter so I could see where voltage is at too. amzn.to/26yd9m9There are many cheap options though. You can find USB charger/voltmeter combos that replace the cigarette lighter style 12V outlet or different adapters for a cigarette lighter. Depends what you like best.

Those two pin connectors are a trailer harness type connector. I don't know if HF has them but auto supply stores should have them. Northern tool may have them also. They carry more trailer supplies than HF. That HF kit seems to be two pin connectors with various ends. Warning, the two pin connectors can be plugged together reverse polarity.

I used one of these from Ebay. Here is a few pics of it installed. From this location the power leads just made it the battery. I wired it directly to the battery vs the ignition switch. My thought process was I could charge the battery thru the cig-lighter(.5a max) without having to remove the battery cover. I used the existing bolt hole that the external turn signals were attached to. I used plastic weld to glue a small aluminum strip to the housing and picked up and modded a plastic stand-off to set the height below the handle bars. I have not used it yet, but it almost looks factory.

I've installed a USB port on mine, was only a few bucks from Aliexpress. Originally I wired it directly to the ignition. I've now added another DC accessory circuit from my battery with a relay switched by the ignition, the USB and my gauges are run off that.

Nice install, too bad it didn't have a dust cover so when it is not being use and exposed to the elements.
