All good points.
My Helix wieghs 285 +/- and add my 220 and my wife at a bit over 100 and it's pushing close to 600 pounds, plus what ever we have strapped in or on it, add to that the big a$$ KY hills and the fact that I do the speed limit and my CVTs take a serious flogging daily. The major difference being he fact that the bigger displacement engines have heavier duty CVT designs.
Clean the CVT and all components at least once every week or two, more often for heavier or faster machines. Blow all the belt and clutch dust out with an air gun, LIGHTLY oil the pivot points on the clutch arms, and graphite the he%% out of the rollers.
Too bad a CVT like my Cyprus can't be adapted to fit a smaller engine. One of mine uses the same width rollers as the 1e40 vari, with a larger diameter. Lighter weights can be found, or even made. The main thing that I think makes these a better CVT is the addition of the extra two rollers and ramps. Gives them a more even thrust force .

Thanks for the info I am looking forward to investigating the 150cc when I install it. You may have seen my major parts list I posted somewhere. I know there will be many more expenses and problems to solve.

I've seen 9 roller Variatiors. Polini High Speed Evo 3, High Speed Evo, Maxi High Speed and Super Speed Variatior. But none fit any of my scooters so never really looked into them.

Nine rollers. Interesting...... Evenly spaced tracks, all the way around it, instead of just six rollers with a lot of empty space....
I can see the added rollers helping by applying a more even pressure, causing a better bite.
On another forum, a dude with very large pockets, was talking about a total remake on his scooter. I mean everything, a sprag clutch operated by the left grip, mag drive water pumps with separate programmable controllers, a converted TCI ignition with a custom flashed ROM control, a custom built and designed Desmo head, and a converted or adapted IVT chain drive system. Dude had very deep pockets, and had every bearing and moving surface polished and high temp coated along with a custom built alternator system with custom flywheel and all. Like I said deep pockets. Was an interesting read, but left me thinking dude had more money than sense.......

I took the 40.1mph 82cc 139qmb out for the first time since I bought the TGB. I need to invest in an impact wrench so I can do some variator tuning.
