All i did was clean the carb but those things are definitely designed different than the Chinese scoots I have. I guess it was liquid cooled since it took antifreeze? The dude was getting on my nerves saying "the internet told me to do this and that" while I was trying to work on in so I said "well take it back home and let the internet work on it for you" lol he didn't say another word after that except "man you're good" after I put the carb back on and it cranked right up

Haha that's great! Ya that's certainly annoying when you're the one getting you're hands dirty. Unfortunately sometimes it takes a sideways comment to slap someone back to reality and realize you're gettin er done for him and he should be thankful for that! Glad you got to strut your skillz and see a new scoot. RESPECT!

They are interesting scoots. Did you know that the generator also doubles as the starter? The center stand can also be locked in the down position making them a little harder to steal.

My wife has one. It's super reliable. Yes, the starter doubles as the generator and the generator is very weak. Can't just throw high wattage bulbs in the headlights without burning it out.

A friend of mine had one and asked me if I'd check on putting a big bore kit on. After doing a little research online, found out there's hardly any upgrades you can do to the engine! Couldn't even find a big bore kit! Nice quality but I think I'll stick to my Chinese scoots with plenty of options!

Or did they change them to a different engine in later models?

They are the same as the Rickus up until last year. The new ones have a completely different engine with fuel injection and apparently get 110 mpg.
Battlescooter.com is a good site for people looking to upgrade. The stock Met is perfect for my wife add is completely dependable and she's pretty light so it goes 42 with her on it. I put lighter weights on it and a better variator to help her on the hills.
I wanted something faster that I could hot rod a little, so I bought myself a Kymco People 50 two stroke.
