I ride mine like a motorcycle and take the whole lane(on back roads). Why? Well most speed limits in this area are 25-45, except for the main drag which is 50(where there is enough room to keep to the side). My scoots do 50-55 so I have no trouble keeping up or ahead of traffic.
Was warned a couple weeks ago by the cops that unregistered/uninsured scooters have to keep to the side of road like bicycles(but the law stats if you can do the speed limit, you can take the lane)
Funny thing the bicyclist around here run stop signs and signals, ride 2-4 abreast like they are in the tour de france and think they are in the hells angels biker gang riding in the numbers that do, but cops stop the guy with engine following the traffic laws(most of the time),go figure.
I so want to a install a truck air horn, a mini air compressor & air tank and have a little fun rolling up on these clowns and watch them poop their spadix outfits.

That is one sexy ass bike. The only thing that would make it look better, is if it was in Kentucky, with me riding it...,
I usually try to ride my scoots like a bicycle in curves, and a motorcycle in the straight stretches when no cars are coming. At a red light, if there is no one in front of me, I will turn left to go straight, or turn left then do a u turn to turn left.....
I ride all three o my scooters like every vehicle on the road is trying to kill me.

gsx600, where do you live, mate?
Haha, well that was some of the point I was trying to ask: Does riding a scooter change your attitude, or "riding style" as opposed to any other "vehicles" in the same streets and roads?
Was wondering this because whenever riding me scoot, my "having fun" factor goes up in conjunction with my "hooliganism" attitude. Maybe they are forever linked! LOL
And I hear ya aboot the road bicyclists... some could get pretty lofty when they are peddling, and getting the adrenaline flowing... psychological. heh

Oh WOW! you totally converted full off-road motoX bike to a supermoto! How did you get it road legal?? Lots of paper-work, I'd bet.
You and the bike look awesome, mate!

Yea, that CR is supermoto is my dream bike.
I ride my scoot like a fool. Lane splint, speed, you name it! Especially in traffic on way home from work, I split lane all the way to the front. Just yesterday a guy in a Ford diesel got butt hurt and when that light went green I was GONE. He caught me eventually on a long straight but he had to be doing 80 because I clocked my bike today and it hits 64mph quick!

It's a bit hard to get "aggressive" in traffic with 4.5hp lol
But I ride pretty much the way I ride a motorcycle...within it's limits. If it's really hot out, I might squeeze around cars to get to the front so I don't miss long lights. But often I stay in place.
Ont the 150cc scooter I can outrun most traffic so I ride it like a motorcycle.
On the 600 I drive "confidently" and a bit aggressively.....usually go to the front, cause they're either texting or talking or driving like idiots and I don't have time for that nonsense.

I ride on the shoulder on the 50cc registered stuff, because I'm required to. As a consolation prize for not being able to ride on the actual roadway, I've received a lifetime supply of tire puncturing debris. On back roads with no shoulder, I'm required to ride to the right and let traffic pass... but on the 2Ts it's more likely that I'll be passing traffic or at least keeping up. In towns, where the speed limit is low, I ride like any other traffic on all of the scoots.
If I'm on the shoulder, I'm usually up front at red lights naturally. If someone is turning right, I don't pull up beside them or pass lines of traffic. About the only time I do that here and there is at the beach where sometimes traffic is backed up in the shoulder/turn lane and if I go around a few stopped vehicles I have an open path.
I ride the 150 like a motorcycle, because that's what it's classified as... even though some of my 2T scooter class rides are faster.
I haven't spent much time on big bikes on the road. Never owned one myself, so I've only been on sportbikes and cruisers that friends owned. I can say that I respect their power enough that I do not ride them like the scoots. Faster, yes... but not treating the throttle like a light switch. Scoots don't kick the back tire out while cruising with cold tires if you gas it too hard and things like that. At least mine don't, aside from some rare occasions in the rain with crappy or more race oriented tires. It's also a lot easier to get into hairy situations on turns because the acceleration happens so fast on some bikes.

It's also a lot easier to get into hairy situations on turns because the acceleration happens so fast on some bikes. I can appreciate that. The awesome thing about sportbikes is the handling, CG, power and stopping capability give you the ability to save your own life in a lot of situations that you'd not probably walk away from on other 2 wheeled vehicles. ONCE..you become skilled at riding. Even so, there's always the driver from hell who will go through a busy intersection full speed on a red light......or make a right turn, from the 3rd lane over to the left at the last second. If this was the Wild West it'd be their last mistake...... Be safe everyone and watch for those fools behind the wheel

No lane splitting here in Oregon. Back in Cali I either did or I didn't. More not due to so many people darting back and forth going nowhere fast. Here in Oregon I'm WOT all day or atleast until I come across the law. (30mph max) The only reason I let cars go around me is if I'm unable to maintain the speed limit uphill. If it's not posted on these back roads then it's 55mph.

Lane splitting is legal here, so it would be rude not too. I love it when cars try to overtake you from lights and get left in the two stroke smoke I ride the scoot the same as my motorcycle, in the centre of the road to stop people cutting me up. Its funny on the motorcycle nobody cuts you up, but the scooter even doing more than the speed limit the cages have to get in front at any cost

When I ride the scoots I'm MOST DEFINITELY more of a Hooligan. Mostly because the scooters are smaller, more nimble and the 2t torque is a blast. I lane split on every bike I own but its easier on the scooters because of their size and shorter wheelbase which makes the scoots more manuverable. Plus the scooters are lighter which makes being a hooligan easier and more fun. Another reason Im more careful on the big bikes is the higher speeds which makes them that much more dangerous. But yea. When it comes down to it I split lanes, am the first at every light, and usually going faster than the speed limit. I do it more careful on the big bikes though, and the scoots I love to wheelie on but dont wheelie much on the big bikes.
