I saw those in a store and thought they were a great idea. I would like one for my GPS.

I got a Ram mount like that and it works great. It wasn't cheap though and I ordered each of the three pieces separately because I didn't find what I wanted from a single seller. Mine mounts under the mirror on my Buddy.

The problem I see with those is that if you lay your scoot down hard your phone could/would go skipping down the pavement and get all f-ed up whereas in your pocket it at least has a chance to survive intact.

Just mount the phone/GPS on your helmet like some night vision scope.

My phone would be the last thing im worried about if i lay it down. And i have an armour case. This phone takes a beating daily at the body shop lol

A heat gun will smooth out the edges of plastic parts. Practice on a piece of scrap first.

I know that but i cut out a chunk of plastic when i installed the mount the furst time only to realize it wouldnt work/fit so i had to move it. So i just took a piece of vinyl and cut and stuck it over the cut i made. I will fix it with fiberglass next week when i paint my scoot
