I allowed a mechanic to upgrade my 50 cc to a 80 cc . After completing the upgrade he relased it to me. I had it for 12 hours and it stop working. Not wanting to crank, his excuse to me was that i messed up the cylinder head. And i need to buy a new one. Why should i buy a new head when i only had the new 80cc upgrade for one day. Is it my fault? He said because i didnt break it in properly. However should it break in less than 24 hours. Attached is the pictures of my head. Should i buy another head 100 cc this time and allow him to fix it? Or should i take my buisness else where?

I don't see any pics, but it shouldn't be your fault. Improper break-in just sounds like a way to get out of warranty work. I run mine WOT shortly after I build them... almost immediately.
It's really your call if you want to risk more parts with him. If he expects to be paid for this work, then I'd say no. Take it elsewhere.

90GTVert or Brent as we call him here is right. You shouldn't have to pay more. Now if your mechanic is a creep he will just say that's how the ball bounces. Good luck though you are in the right place to learn how to work on your own scoot. Be your own mechanic, diagnose your own problems. When something is just not making sense to you or the information here isn't what you need then just ask. that's why we are here.

I build race motors do a living.Propepely assembled tolerances reall require a couple heat cycles then wot.The head really has no parts to "breakin" Unless he works under a shade tree he has to give a somewhat limited warranty. What exactly were his written "breakin" procedure. My guess is none.Threaten and if necessary take him to small claims court but don't. Give him 5 cents.

Would last longer than that. It sounds like it was a set up problem. I would be taking my work and money elsewhere.

In the motor repair business reputatation is everything.Screw one guy he tells 12 who tell 12 more.Treat one guy right and the ripple is smaller. Our rates are reasonable but we are slow. However after 44 yrs we turn away work daily from word of mouth happy customers.

ok i went and picked up my bike from him. it was in pieces. he told me to buy a new cylinder head so i went online and bought a 100 cc engine for 50 dollars. he inturn said he only do 80 cc heads. and he will not be putting it together. when i went and got it from the shop i recorded the whole interaction. all my engine parts were disasimbled onto the foot rest . when i gave my bike to him all the parts were intact. he texted me 1 week later and ask me if I was riding. i told him i was going to sue him. he said its my fault and do what ever so thats what im going to do.
