One interesting thing with the two strokes is when derestricted you get better mpg. It's not running at high revs all the time and the CVT can perform as it was designed. That's a double win

She just recently derestricted it, pipe and variator, and has mentioned the noticeable improvement in fuel economy.

Friend clicked a GPS verified 53mph on a new Vespa Primavera 50. Said it took about 4 miles to get there though.

Aprilia makes a liquid cooled that's a beast I remember reading the wiki page on it basically its untouchable stock but just a little mods it murders other scoots I want one I found a guy with one that's not running and for sale not far from me if only I had more money I offered to repair it for him as he was originally wanting it fixed.

I have a GS Roughhouse Sport (see my avatar pic to the left) and have had it for almost 2 years and it's built like a tank but drives like a well oiled machine. It's still stock and i haven't needed to do any work on it at all. Being one of the few scooters that are "Speed Blessd" right off the show room floor it's well made and can keep up with any in town traffic. (45 to 50 MPH traffic without any problems) What you really want to be consered about is parts availability as with say an SR 50, you might not be able to get a body panel for it easily. If i knew i could get parts for the sr 50 without much problems. i would go with it without question.

Piaggio era SR50s aren't bad on parts availability. Buddy of mine recently replaced half the panels after a parking lot accident. Body panels are overrated.

My 2006 yellow aerox ( aftermarket exhaust , variator kit ) absolutely thrashes my wifes 2017 SR50 . I'm actually surprised and a bit disappointed with the speed of the Aprilia . It must be restricted . If anyone has knowledge of how to derestrict it please tell me . She doesnt want to mod it with exhaust etc , but there must be something I can do to it . Ken

I've heard the Derby gp-1 can do 55 60 miles per hour stock. I never got my running so I cant confirm that, but it did have a piaggio water-cooled motor that came with a variator and torque driver roughly the same size as a malossi overrange kit and a "13 wheel.

My Predator, LC Morini engine, was hitting almost 50 with the stock top end missing a ring and with a very badly scored cylinder.
