That's nice but isn't it on the cheap side? Also you will need basic electrical experience. Do you have a source for tach signal?

I've got something similar. Its the poor mans trailtech vapor. I haven't hooked mine up yet as I've been dealing with other issues. As I understand it the leed for the rpm is just a wire wrapped around the sparkplug wire as my el cheapo tuning tach does. At $48 can you really go wrong?

Looks interesting, wish the seller had more spec's info. Curious how high the temp reads(is it digital or just and idiot warning light) and what type of sensor is needed. Again, @ 48 bucks, would be interesting to play with and review. Plus I like an analog tach. My builds will never see 14K rpm unless the drive belt breaks.

We've had some members use Chinese instrument clusters of various types and report being pleased. Forget good instructions, as most don't include them from what I gather.
Tach signal would either be wrapped around the plug wire, or tapped into ignition coil positive. The latter should work with most, the former may work.

That unit says it is for 2 or 4 cylinder engines.

Raizer did install a china clone of the KOSO and he seems to be very pleased with it. I think SS182 was the name of it. As already mentioned it takes some experience with electronics to get it setup right. He has a video and pics of it in his Suzuki thread.

That unit says it is for 2 or 4 cylinder engines. So he would have to divide by two I suppose..oh wait...multiply by two...right? Good catch. I would not want to use it in that case. Bill

I was thinking of doing one on my daughter's Tao Tao. If I do though, I'm just gonna break down and take some added expense and buy one of these from the Tao Tao USA's website so that I will always have the option of reversing what was done to it: www.eagleatvparts.com/product_info.php?products_id=92225

searon-tech.com seems to have a lot of nifty high end guages and electronic monitoring displays.. Currently I don't have a scooter but for my next one a 'generalized' RPM / valve head temp could be useful with one of these: "digital tachometer and thermometer for air cooled engine"Even at 50cc's knowing the RPM could lead to better CVT mods like knowing what size rollers provide best average performance. And in the south I heard there's a few cooling mods asides from quality engine oil such as add-on fans or default fan housing air scoops. In colder weather it might be less of a concern. I've had a 5-spd without RPM but that made an automatic with RPM much more fun to trick into gears.
