That's like 450 pounds. You want a 2t. Zuma is a little cramped with two up. Some of the clones will have more room, Eton, vento triton and it's clones, keyway etc.

I'm 6'2 and I need to sit on the rear hump. niz76 has the air 50 that is full size with a 2T. Might want to look into that. The 2Ts are a tight fit riding 2up.

My son and myself have both gotten on a Zuma. We're both 6' 3". He's 230-240 and I'm 220. It was really cramped but the damn thing pulled us around pretty good.

I'm 6'2 or so and nearly 300lb and have had 140lb on the back in the past on a stock Vento Triton. Not terrible, but I can't say I'd want to do it every day or for long distances. If I had to ride 2up all of the time or very far I'd want more of a touring styled scoot, but they don't seem to come in anything below about a 150 from what I've seen. You can get 2 people on even a small scoot if you want to bad enough, but it won't be a good time.

My triton clones and my Eton are both more roomy than my Zuma. The keyway f-act looks to be about the same. As long as you aren't big around they aren't too bad 2 up. 2t power and the bikes with the deeper 13.54:1 gears like the Eton will help but these are all really designed for one up operation even though they almost all have provisions for a passenger

My Key West is big as 50cc bikes go but at 6'3" it's extremely uncomfortable for my girlfriend to ride on the back. I wind up pushing her back onto the luggage rack.

Ya my Roketa AIR scoot is huge. It's bigger than pretty much every other 49cc scoot out there. The Tritons are decent size and the AIR is large compared to it. Another scoot that I've had that's pretty big is the Baccio VX 50- or any of the "Hunter Style" scoots for that matter. You usually see them as 150cc scoots but there's a few 49cc in that style...

Thanks for all the info. My friend isn't to knowledgeable about scoots. He wants a 4t not a 2t. And he changed his mind and only wants to spend about 500. And right now it's a seller's market on scoots. I was building him a scoot that for stolen when mine got stolen. So now he is in a rush to buy one when there aren't very many around us that are good scoots. Ppl are asking 6-700 for crappy 50cc gators? It's crazy! And I was only able to get 400 for my eton? This world ain't right! I'm trying to find something better than a VIP for him but he is being a dumbass. I told him I would rather take a 5 year old kymco or zuma rather than a brand new Chinese VIP but he does not agree. He shall find out the hard way. Btw anyone around me haven one for sale?

$800 ain't gonna get him a Zuma unless it's a used one. Brand new for a Zuma 125 will set you back about $3200. A 50cc Zuma goes for around $2500. For the money he wants to spend, I say best strategy, is find a 50cc that can seat 2 people, and throw a BBK into it. You won't have the torque to pull that much weight with a standard 50cc, even if it's a 2T. You'd almost HAVE TO go with a BBK, if for any reason, to gain the needed torque. He might want a $600 range, but honestly, the $800 range will get him more. For $800, that will get you an ATM50-A1 and a BBK kit with some decent sliders and a new carb. It would perform much better then say a Zuma 50FX and the seat size is comparable as well.. Though, like others stated...not very comfortable for longer trips, but doable. But still.. that's a savings of well over $1200. I don't buy into the "CHINESE SCOOTS ARE WORTHLESS" MEME. Any more, all that is, is a market strategy hype by the Japanese to get you to buy their higher priced warez. Figure it this way... for the same price as 1 Zuma 125, you can buy about 6 ATM50-A1's. Just do this... Send him on over to www.provenpowersports.com/Tell him to shell out $1279.88 and get his and her's scoots and call it good. Then he won't have to worry about room. And, depending on the state... won't have to worry about laws against having 2 riders on a scooter like my state does.

I see huge people riding 2 up on VIP's around here all the time. It will work, but like you said he will have to learn for himself.

Two up on any 50cc scooter is asking a lot if your quite big. I think a couple of the Yamaha's I had were only about 140kg max load capacity. You would be way over that. My Jog RR coped well with me and my daughter on it, but I'm only about 150 pounds and she is about 120. It would still go with my rather large mate on the back, but killed performance. Was a very bouncy ride, I would not like to do it often.

It sounds like your friend pays no attention to what you advise him of. At some point, you'll have to just stand back and let him get whatever he has in his mind that's best if he won't take good advice. Just in case he needs some figures, my 4T TaoTao in stock form took over 20 seconds to get to 30MPH with me on it. It should be even slower with the additional weight when he's 2up. Hills and headwinds will bring it to a crawl. You could always join them on rides with a 2T and let him see what you were trying to tell him.
An additional note... I'm not sure how experienced your friend is, but if he's new to riding you may want to encourage him to spend some time with the scoot riding solo before taking on a passenger.

He isnt new to scoots but is a dumbass! He went and spent way to much on a 50cc gator. 300 he spent on it. And no title, wiring messed up.And front break doesn't work because of a leak. I don't or wouldent pay over 75 for one of those. I hate working on them. They are pain in the ass. I told him he is going to rush and regret it and he immediately did once he got it home. Oh well! Can't say I told him so! Btw, his girl will not ride on it with him so that pisses him off even more! LOL
