My starter has been dragind lately so I've changed main battery cable to selenoid and battery ground wires and replaced the charged the battery (14.3v). After all this is was doing the same. Have decided I need a better battery cause it cranks fine with my jeep battery lol. Question is...if I unhook my battery while scoot is running and hook multi meter to the hot wire and chassis ground should it read 12v or higher to be charging? Mine read 5 and under depending on rpm. Thanks

If your battery isn't charging, your magneto isn't working properly.

13.3 - 14.2 volts is optimal
5 is too low
Bad regulator, bad stator or still bad ground.
You should check the AC output of the stator by disconnecting the stator and testing it directly at the connector (AC voltage) NOT DC at the stator

Thanks for responding guys. I watched that vid in the link and by the host here and am going to test the stator. Hopefully I can get this figured out. I looked kinda silly with a giant truck battery strapped to the floor pan going to the doctor today lmao but hey I got there and more importantly back
