For second time this month, an ass clown pulls right out in front of me, and down I go. This time at a T intersection, he was supposed to yield, looked right at me and zip. I then proceeded to get up, take off my helmet and attempted to smash the drivers window and pull him out. He wisely left the scene, and to his credit called the police to let him know what happened. The sheriff already noted his fault in the report, his insurance company is going to get off with a hospital bill, the scooter won't start, it kept running on it's side until the carb ran out of gas actually, all the electricals work, the starter relay clicks but the starter doesn't kick in, so I either pulled a wire loose, or possibly damaged the relay, and a bent turn signal. Honestly, I'm glad the guy took off, or I'd be in jail right now. As it stands, some minor scooter repair and 8 stitches is the end result. Doctor said I'd have a nice hole in my leg from "missing tissue", must have hit something on the scooter as I flew off. Maybe I'll find the tissue in the morning...

Oh crap! He left the scene? I thought that is illegal at least it is here. Also known as hit and run. Just because he called the cops it doesn't mean he can just leave.

He left the scene because a 200 pound man with a hole in his leg was trying to smash his window and pull him out of the truck. I freely admitted to the sheriff that it was probably a good thing because at the time I was in such a rage I hadn't even noticed the big hole in my leg so obviously I was not rational...

I am pleased to announce that at 12:01AM (CDT) Rat Bob was successfully reanimated with the repair of a wiring issue related to a cracked connector that took a hit.
I also found the missing tissue. The corner of my floorboard, sharp plastic corner over sharp metal bracket. Left a hole in my leg about 1/2" deep right into the fat layer and grazing the muscle, that's gonna hurt in the morning.

Insurance should pay for your bike too since he admitted fault.

Insurance should pay for your bike too since he admitted fault. Depends if your in a no-fault state. No--fault insurance sucks because your own insurance pays even if it's the other persons fault.

Twice in a month... I think I'd either start wearing day glow colors head to toe and making sure my lighting was highly visible in the daytime and switching lane position to make myself more visible if possible and slowing for intersections... or just move away from that area. BTW, I'm not at all implying that you're doing anything wrong, as you can do everything in your power and still have some fool try to kill you. Just saying I'd have to wonder if there were any more I could do with that frequency of events.

My scooter is bright red and yellow, I always wear dayglo when riding, I even have the stupid dayglo flag the law requires and an 8" motorcycle headlight and I ride correctly for a motorcycle.
Short of stopping at any intersection and waving every car through, I don't know what else to do but just sell the scooter and quit riding.

You're lucky the driver didn't "cap your ass", or at least display a gun!
Only you know what your modified moped speed was prior to the collision . . but might be time to reconsider if the liability aspects of "gaming the system" is really worth it.

It's not a solution to just up and move when you have a very good job and good retirement benefits down the road. Plus where you're going you may not be able to find a decent job at all....if you still need to work for a living anyway.
