I have stock tao tao 49cc, after market exhaust, scrappys 20 mm carb,"good carb", with 35 idle and 78 main jet. Is this still too much jet for this scooter. I ask because hard starts. Slow take off. Spark is great, timing advance, but minimally. Oh , 85 and 80 where way too much.

Go to a lower pilot jet, I'd say a #33. I just put a #35 in my stock scoot (19mm carb) and the #35 is too much. Runnung rich and bogging from a stop. I have to turn the mixture screw all the way in to get a real good idle, It's set 1/4 turn out. I'll be putting a smaller pilot jet in myself (#33 or lower).
I run a #85 main jet and it works really well for me. But, every scoot is different.
