Do you guys think there's any major difference in quality between clutch contra springs made by malossi, polini, and those on eBay and other cheap places?

I haven't used many (if any) high end name brand stuff. I tend to use Taiwan made springs like NCY, Hoca, or Koso. Spring rate and longevity varies. In my 139QMB, I seemed to have better luck with NCY contra springs than Hoca, regarding spring fade. I think when you choose a big brand like Malossi, you'll have a consistent experience compared to just buying any say 1000RPM spring out there and others here have said that they last longer.

I would bet on the materials and heat treatment actually being consistent and a real quality control department. Malossi stuff comes with a certificate of authenticity, at least everything but one variator I bought did. The uncertified variator was not of the same quality, and it has been set aside as a back up.

All i can say is i bought 2 cheap ones(different brands) and the newest blue one I bought from scooter parts express is softer than my old wore out blue generic. The s.p.e one is even softer than my stock, but it is longer(blue one). For no more of what the cost differance is I'm goin for name brand next time. And then after its tuned I would order 2 more of the same from same dealer in hopes of getting some from the same batch and maybe at least they would all be the same for tuning sake

I have always used name brand contra springs.
I did buy some no name china engagement springs once. they were supposed to be 2000rpm. they lowered my clutch engagement by 500 rpm
