Not a whole lot at play here. It's only one of three things. 1. Valve seals. 2. Piston rings. 3. Head gasket.

Just bought a new valve head, new head gasket...gotta be the rings even though they look fine. If not then I give up. Anybody suggest some rings I should get? 47mm 80cc I found some on scooter parts express but I'm wary on spending $21 on something that may not be the problem. Should some $10 ones be just as good?

I'd just try to find something made in Taiwan instead of China if possible. A member here used to buy Hoca rings for cheap Chinese BBKs regularly, but I'm not seeing them on PFS' site ATM. I found NCY elsewhere, but they want $30 for the rings. Here are Naraku rings : scootertuning.ca/en/pistons-gaskets/860009-piston-ring-set-naraku-72cc-gy6-50cc.htmlYou may be fine with another set of Chinese rings. It's not like they're all bad, I mean our stock scoots are using all Chinese parts and many run a long time before any internal engine issues. Whatever you choose, inspect the bore and again make sure you check/set the end gaps on the new ones.

Thanks! Next problem, keeping my balls warm while riding in December! :-P

Just waiting for the time to install them (Wednesday can't come sooner!)
