That is not the top ring. The ring you bent is called a scraper or side ring(circled in red in picture) That ring needs to be installed. If you bent what is supposed to be the top ring, it would be in 2 pieces. Did you stagger the ring openings in the picture shown too(circled in blue)? From your vid, its turning over way too easy(no compression) I also hear a hissing noise, either the plug is not in or the there is a gasket issue. Did you torque the head bolts ? Is the valve timing set correctly ? I think you need to tear it back down, fix the ring issue. Take pics as you go along to see if things are going together correctly.

I never installed the ring and actually it's the top ring that goes on the top of the gold bottom ring because it would not fit snugly due to me trying to jam the piston on to cylinder. Did you torque the head bolts ? Is the valve timing set correctly ? Yes and yes Absolutely!! If you bent what is supposed to be the top ring, it would be in 2 pieces. If you see the pic it is bent not in two pieces

What I mean by that, is when it comes to people who have problems with their scoots, your problems always win the gold medal.
I think one of the issues you are having Floyd, is you rush into things blindly with no prior knowledge or experience and expect that you will have good results.
Everybody has to learn somehow, and that's great that you want to learn, but you have to be a little more patient and a little more willing to be taught how things get done first before just trying to take on a job.
You will now have to spend money getting the new needed ring for your engine. Don't try putting the bent one in. But anyways, if you would have taken a little more time to learn a bit more about it and HOW to do it, you wouldn't have to waste even more time and money like you will have to now.
PLEASE Floyd.. I'm saying this because you seem like your pretty cool as hell... learn how to do things first man!! You'll gain one bad ass scoot in the end if you do.

Floyd, you need to look at the picture I attached, The area circled in blue shows the angles to stagger the rings.

Yes I staggers the rings But it's hard to keep them in the right position when outing the piston on the cylinder GSo now that I broke the ring do I need to buy a ring set or just that one ring How much should it cost at a shop and where would I find it on the net every time I look it always come with a piston This is the big ore video I used to install my kit m.youtube.com/watch?v=0-GPXbM7qRU

Watch this video Floyd. Listen closely to what he says. When you go to do it yourself, take your time, don't try forcing it.

If you think you're gonna need to just start all over. Watch the entire series CHAPTER BY CHAPTER.
That will probably be the easiest way for you to do it. 1 chapter at a time.
You can watch the whole series here:
