does your carb have an accelerator pump? mine does and wont start in les you quickly twist the throttle a couple of times while you press the start button. it literally squirts fuel into the intake. like old cars where you got to pump the peddle to get it to start

'Cranks' is one thing, meaning the engine revolves with the starter engaged. 'Starts' means the engine actually runs on gasoline from the carb after being 'cranked' or 'kicked' with the kick-start mechanism. Every scoot takes a slightly different starting sequence or control settings. Yours just needs a little more throttle opening to start than the idle throttle setting. My scoot is the same way. These scoots are definitely not modern computer controlled fuel injected engines, they have carbs... Just to add, The terminology "crank or cranking" came from a simpler time when the inventors of horse-less carriage(automobile or car) which ran using internal combustion engines. These engines had to be started manually because the electric starter was not invented. The use of a hand "crank" was used to start these engines. Hence the terms "crank, crank over, or cranking."(the act of starting an engine) Seems in modern times, its evolved into "crank it" or "crank it up" which some will relate to make louder or go faster. I must be getting old. LOL
