Drill it out and use a helicoil.

When I use my drill it seems not to do much damage the whole isn't widening I will post vid soon Floyd, you must use the correct drill called for in the helicoil kit. It will be a hardend drill of the correct size such that you can then install their helicoil threads and break off the tang at the bottom. Please read the instructions on the kit and also, if you need to, look at videos of folks installing helicoils in their threads. Bill

I am talking about your drill bit, not the machine that is turning it. Bill

You should really consider having a machine shop or someone thats done this before fix this for you.
If you are determined to do this yourself, start with smaller drills and work your way of to the correct tap size. Finding the center of the bolt is critical, if its off when you start getting to the larger drill and you start going off to the side into the aluminum case, the drill will follow(walk or move)the softer material(aluminum) and will make matters even worse. It should be drilled in a drill press and not with a hand drill so your hole is straight.
If it was me, I'd drill out with smaller drills but not to size. If you got the hole centered, you will weaken the exterior walls of the bolt and then you could use a screw extractor to remove the bolt. Plus the heat from drilling will help.
Where your broken bolt is located and if you use the screw extractor method, before you go to remove the screw use a torch to heat around where the bolt is stuck, seeing its aluminum it the heat will make it expand more than the steel bolt and the bolt will come out real easy.
Here is a Helicoil repair others have mentioned.
There is also this method using a reverse(left handed) drill bit.

You can also use a Dremel with a cutoff wheel to slot the bolt and remove it with a flat blade screwdriver. If you can physically get to it a fine tooth hacksaw blade can also be used to slot the bolt.

Just remove that bad bolt, fix it right and move on. Bill
