First let me say how thrilled I am to at last be able to post something in the 2 smoker section. Now on with the story. As some of you will recall I've been working out of state and saving to buy a 2 stroke. Sometime this week that will happen and she's a beauty! A 1999 Aprila sr50 with the W/C minarelli. Oh and it has the malossi 70cc BBK in it. Its been garage kept its whole life as all the warning stickers are still there and in great shape. Now on to the questions, first what pipe should I get? Last owner broke the old one. And second which carb? I think he used it on another build. I really want to do it right so let me know and why.

Welcome to the LIGHT!Do you know which cylinder kit is on it??A 19-21 Dellorto(or clone) is a good choice, and a mild pipe(technigas,LeoVince) for a tame cylinder,Yasuni C16 for a street race cylinder..

I will have to ask which kit exactly it is. All I remember that he said was the malossi 70 bbk. I like the look of the yasuni pipes! the more raw looking stuff. Not into lots of chrome. And I suppose I will want the pipe to hit well before top end as I want a town cruzer and not just pure top end. So maybe more in the middle for me.

I hate to vary from guru 190 Mech's recomendations but the Yasuni R has one of the best plots for street use. It may not have the most ultimate hp but it gives a much broader spread that carries into the 11,000 range - great for downhill or tailwind situations. Also gives you a little latitude to tweak up your durations with a base gasket or grinder.

Sounds like a great bike. Not all that 'lectronics, airpumps, etc. like on the DiTech. models. A very desirable model, especially for tuners. Great score. Where was it?

I found it here in Iowa where I've been working. Really nice guy had it and a stretched bug eye zuma. By the way he let me ride the zuma! Fast but think I can do without the stretch.

I was starting to think that you might not come back to the forum, that you were making so much money that you moved up to Ferrari's It will be a lambo huracan Spaz! Lol I still got the bug and haven't forgotten any of the whys I'm doing this. Besides there is just something about being on a scoot thats just right. For me a light frame 50 with as much power as can be is nirvana. Sure my 150 is fast enough in town but its too friggin heavy and dont handle at all like the lighter bikes. I'm looking to invest in this one and have something nice.

So maybe a wheel upgrade is in the future as well.

If you do change the wheels out then let me know. I'd like to buy them from you.

Spaz, do these wheels fit the zuma? Do they have the same spline count?
