2014 Zuma 50F 26,000 mi L/C Fuel injected 4t. I changed the oil today and there was a noticable/ strong gas smell to the oil. I don't have a compression tester but It's as strong as when I bought it 3,000 mi ago. Rings? Valve?
I've never worked on an FI scoot before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My guess would be an injector leaking when bike is shut off

Thanks for the reply. With the tank is in the foot rest could the line hold enough pressure to cause leaking?

It is fuel injected so yes it will hold pressure. If the injector is leaking it will put gas in the oil just like a carburetor bike will with a leaky needle and seat.

First time with FI let me see if I got this right.
The pump keeps a constant pressue. Fuel is controlled by the computer by way of the injector.
Could I test the injector by removing it, then reconnect the fuel line, turn the key over (should spray for the startup) but after the initial spray the flow will cut off compleatly. If the injector shows a leak after the first spray I will know its faulty.

I'm not sure on the test procedure but that sounds reasonable

Cool. I'll give it a shot in the next few days and post the results.

I had the plastics off the other day and pulled the injector. It seems to be working fine. No leaking.
I was thinking about the RPM limiter. Does it work by retarding the spark? If someone, where to ride at the limiter fairly often, would there be wash by?
