So this might need to get moved, but I'm not sure, since I am talking about taking a 50cc bike and boring it out to more ccs. My first question is.... is it worth it to install a BBK on a 4 year old bike with over 2000 miles? 2013 TaoTao BWS 50. It's in pretty good shape, but it started it's life as a rental, then a regular rider had it for work, then it sat for a year before coming to me and I have replaced all the external type components that you can and has brand new carb. So... is it worth it will the motor hold up I found a kit for 150 someone on island has for sale. Clutch rollers and all.
If so next questions are
is the 18mm carb I have going to cut it? What do those of you who have done this upjet your carb to?
Does the exhaust need to be upgraded? The 2013 has a pretty beefy muffler, but I have no idea about the flow.
And final question somewhat related.
On the not knock off actual Japanese Yamaha Zuma scooter also 50cc is the motor the same as a gy6? And how about the carb? Different type? Found one in need of repair for $300 that could be a great fixer upper.
hmmm think that's it for now! Mahalos

Can't really tell ya much about the 4 stroke clone, but the motors are completely different. The real Zuma 50 has a 2 stroke motor that you can do a lot of things to to make very fast. Myself, I would buy the real one, sell the clone and buy parts to fix up the real one. But I'm a die-hard 2 stroke fan, so I'm seriously biased.

If I were going to keep the Taotao I would buy a Taiwanese 47mm BBK or buy the less expensive Chinese 47mm BBK and purchase Taiwanese rings separately. I would not suggest buying a pre- put to gather kit but putting one together yourself. Including a performance variator Hoca, Polini, Malossi. A set tuning roller weights, Yellow contra spring, Medium clutch springs. A tuning set of main jets. My stock carb ran well with a 90 after the 47mm BBK install. An 18" carb should work well. I would keep the stock pipe. That would be my advice. This site has tons of great info and video. Read up on the install and CVT tuning. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/347/scooter-glossarywww.49ccscoot.com/faq/faq.html49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/1234/directory-find-faster
