Hello,
I recently had a BBK installed on a Kymco Agility. It wasn't what I wanted so I put the original engine back on. I cleaned everything and smoothed all surfaces out, tightened to specs, adjusted valve clearance. The scooter starts up, with little trouble, I wouldn't say its perfect, but its reliable.
The problem that I'm having is it idles fine for 10+ minutes and could go longer, seems to be responsive to the throttle, goes high on the rpm when on the stand, but once the scooter is at operating temp and I went for a test drive, it doesn't have the normal amount of power behind it and the power deteriorates relatively quickly. By the time I went around the block and was back in my driveway, I could put my feet on the ground and go WOT and still hold the scooter back with some effort, but not that much. After about a minute of that the scooter starts smoking from the engine and looses rpm quickly and just dies. Doesn't start back up until it cools down some.
Is this a fuel mixture problem or a compression issue? When I tested the compression it would only go up to about 35psi, so i was surprised that it even started in the first place. Also, when idling it sounds like there is some small metal tinging sound going on in the engine somewhere. There are no oil leaks as far as I can tell.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Seems like you need to upjet. What jet size you have?

Have you adjusted or checked the valves since the first startup?

V90Performance, The jet doesn't have a number on it since its the one the carb came with, but i have more ranging from 72 to 110. Which one should I go for? 78? 2stroked, Not really since the first start up. I adjusted valve clearance from .004mm to .006mm because it wasn't starting, but to be honest I'm not sure I did it correctly because I'm having a hard time reading the feeler gauge. The attached picture will show what I used.

Same feeler gauges I use. Try this:/a teaspoon of two stroke oil, poured into the cylinder through the plug hole. Then check compression again. I have a feeling that your gauge may be off....that's a very low number for an engine to even start...
