so I'm putting the cylinder back on my scoot, I graphics the piston and start shimming the cylinder back over the piston. all of a sudden the crank turns rapidly smashing my fingers? WTF? A LITTLE BLOOD IS OK! Now I make sure belt is loose and tie down the flywheel with some speaker wire. It does it again?? This Time Snag My Skin On The Frame And put another hole in my skin! Never had this happen? Why is it doing this? It's like it's spring loaded. That or some spirit is pissed off at me!

This may be a stupid question, but was the battery unhooked before you started?

The crank will spin fairly gently around from momentum if you are turning it at all, but to accelerate rapidly and with enough force to hurt you it would have to be acted upon by some force greater than what should be used to install a cylinder. Maybe kagetenshi has the right idea and some electrical gremlin or mishap is causing the starter to engage? No one is around to play a mean trick on you I assume?

O man, who did you anger. Have you noticed any other unusual things happening around your house such as dead animals (cat or chicken) in your yard.

I did have starter connected but key was not in ignition. Also I didn't hear the starter engage. It was very weird! No dead animals by the house and knowone around to play tricks. Maybe somehow I tripped the starter at the selinoid? But I'm almost 100% positive I did not. Very weird!

This was my mistake. It was late one night during a lightning storm and was holding my favorite scootert pillow to feel safe and I was struck by lightening. This angered me and I started sticking pins into the scooter pillow. Maybe the lightening turned my scooter pillow into a voodoo scooter pillow and was connected to your scooter ?? My bad.

did you use assembly lube? i use a red, slick but sticky one made by permatex. helps alot when trying to slide the cylinder over the piston

I used some gear lube, but doesn't answer the question why it did what it did? But looking at it again I may have left a nut loose on the coil and i may have bumped it and it connected with the wire to the starter. OOPS! LOL

The loose 'nut' was wielding the wrenches.

well I just bought and sold what they called a pioneer 150. also known as an El ninjo. It was a really nice looking scoot. But I doubled my money without having to put any money into it. And it would have got stolen eventually! all my good ones do. Now just have to look for something else because I don't have transportation now.
