You said the stock clutch is adjustable? Which springs are white yellow etc? Since my bike is tuned well for the next r maybe it will be tuned good once the malossi sport bbk goes on. I've heard they make power well together. I'll see after I put the new crank new gears from elek and bbk on and off course rejet. And I'll go from there. Oh yeah what kind of spark plugs should I be using?

I meant which springs do what, I know the difference between the contra spring and clutch springs.

Elek, I sent you a pm. Did you not get it? Sorry I was scattered last night. The way I understand it is clutch springs depending on there color make your clucth engage at certain rpm which can be beneficial for harder take off or tuning. But I must have seen 4or 5 different colors of clutch springs which colors are which rpm. I saw red, white and yellow contra springs which is stiffest and which is softest.

Jwhood mentioned an mhr clutch and bell set I could get I pmed him and asked him where I could find that. I'm glad I read your guy's build threads on tgbs I have never seen so much info on these morini engines in one place and I joined the tgb forum last year.
With the crank, bearings, oil seals, flywheel puller all on there way to me I finally set a time to tear this engine down. 3rd weekend in July I'll start. Only thing I haven't ordered yet is he new gear set from elek.
Elek I pmed you my phone # call or text me when you can I'm pretty flexible

The Polini set goes to 2k RPM. Realistically I can get the clutch to engage at about 6k RPMs with the 2k springs.

I can deal with clutch later, so far the stuff I still need to get is roller sets of diff weights, carb jets, flywheel puller, clutch tool, some gear oil, that gasket stuff for the case. I am closing in.
Oil pump, I'm half tempted to delete the thing. Not sure if I just need to blank it off or what. I have been warned that if I keep stock oil pump set-up after bbk that I will need to add about 1oz of 2s oil in my tank when filling. Can you guys recommend one or the other?

Hey guys I picked up a 08 the laser today as a parts bike for my 101 rebuild. I'll try to figure out how to post pics throughout. Does anyone know if the tgb laser r5i has different maybe taller gears than my 101? I got my new secondary up gear set from elektrey last week. I can't wait to go faster than 38 and not hear the bearing on the left him!

So I have been tearing that laser apart in the evenings this week kind of prepping to do mine this weekend. I hit a couple snags with the disassembly though. I cannot get the rear wheel off, it seems like the electric impact I'm using doesn't have enough power to even crack that nut loose. I'm trying to get my hands on a air powered one hopefully I'll have that figured out soon.
Next problem is the bar over top the engine, I cannot figure out how to get it off. There aren't any nuts on either end holding it in place and I dunno if I'm supposed to beat it out or what.please help lol

If its like the minarellis, the bar most likely has some snap rings on the bar, look on the inside of the motor mounts.
Dont beat the bar out, you will break your motor. Ask me how I know.

Soak the axle nut with PB Blaster, that will loosen it up and get it moving.

You can also apply the breaks and use a breaker bar to loosen the wheel nut.
